BCTC for VSR delivers the solution
The BCTC Philosophy - why we’re different:-- 1. Preserving the principles that underline holistic therapies
- 2. Council consists of representatives of all member-regulated therapies as well as lay members to represent the public
- 3. All procedures in plain English ensuring everyone understands their commitment and benefits
- 4. Registration costs minimized by keeping it simple See the BCTC Structure
The BCTC is a Voluntary Self Regulation Council for Complementary Therapies - 20 Member Therapies and growing
The BCTC is a non-profit making organisation.
The Documents
The following documents are to be read together and complied with.
The minimum standards to which the therapist operates are set out in the Standards of Practice and therapist joining the register will be expected to meet these standards within 2 years
The requirements detailed in the Education and Training document show the minimum generic requirements for a therapist to have learnt before they start to practise any VSR therapy. The therapy specific Education and Training will be in addition to these generic requirements.
The requirements detailed in Continuous Professional Development and Appendices document are to ensure the therapist develops throughout their practising of the therapy. CPD is to ensure the development of both therapist and therapy over time.
A Voluntary Self Regulated therapist practises under the Code of Ethics.
These documents form part of the VSR process, the other part of VSR is the registration, monitoring and assessment process which is currently under development.
