Alzheimer’s is a condition identified as a progressive mental deterioration. It is incurable and occurs in middle to old age, causing the degeneration of the brain. Initial symptoms are short term memory loss and progressive symptoms include dementia, loss of cognitive function and personality as well as behavioural changes. While the disease is incurable, treatments exist to manage the symptoms including mental stimulation, supportive care, drug therapy, herbal medicine, and vitamin therapy.
