Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle that causes it to enlarge and thicken which causes it to pump blood inefficiently through the body. There are four main types of cardiomyopathy and can be caused by heart attacks, high blood pressure, viral infections or a hereditary gene mutation. The disease is treatable with medication and surgery. Natural treatments include lifestyle changes, increased amount of exercise, dietary changes, herbal medicine and vitamin supplements.
