Glaucoma is an eye disease which can cause blindness if left untreated. Glaucoma is characterised by pressure on the eyeball but often has no symptoms. An acute attack of glaucoma can cause red eyes, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, headaches and intense pain. Treatment may include medication, laser therapy, eye drops and surgery in some cases. Alternative treatments such as nutritional therapy, Aryuveda and herbal therapy can help treat glaucoma. Regular eye tests are recommended for preventative and early treatment of glaucoma.
