Guillain Barre Syndrome is a disorder which causes the immune system to attack the nervous system. Symptoms of Guillain Barre Syndrome can include weakness and tingling sensations in the legs which may spread. It can cause paralysis, pain, difficulties breathing and with eye movements, facial movements, speaking, chewing or swallowing. It is a medical emergency for which there is no cure. Symptoms and severity can be treated using high-dose immunoglobulin therapy and plasmapheresis.
