Nail problems can include a range of issues such as white spots, pitting, separation, vertical splitting and more which directly affect the nails. Problems can be caused by trauma, skin diseases or infections. They can be caused by deeper issues such as heart, lung, kidney, liver or thyroid diseases. In some cases, medicine can be used to treat nail problems. Other treatment options include nutritional therapy and more proactive or preventative methods such as wearing gloves whilst washing the dishes - ie. not overexposing your hands to water.
