We also offer a range of other therapies to allow you to achieve optimal physical and emotional health.
About Us
Your initial consultation at the clinic will take an hour. A full case history will be taken, not just about the pain or complaint that may have brought you. but also about your past health history. Some questions may appear irrelevant but they are extremely important to allow your chiropractor make a diagnosis. Once the case history is complete, your chiropractor will carry out a comprehensive physical examination of your spine and nervous system. For this, you will be given a gown and asked to undress down to your underwear. The examination will concentrate on your musculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles and joints) and will involve chiropractic assessment, muscle testing and orthopaedic and neurological tests. It may also be necessary to check other things such as your blood pressure, pulse, heart, lungs and abdomen to rule out other causes. If it is clinically justified. x-rays may be requested. All of this will allow us to make a diagnosis of what is causing your problems.
At your follow-up Report of Findings, your chiropractor will explain your diagnosis and your recommended treatment plan. You will also be given an information folder with a personalised written sumary to take home with you. You will be given an indication of how many visits may be required; this depends on your particular condition, its severity and your response to treatment. If chiropractic does not appear to be suitable for you, then we will refer you back to your GP or a relevant specialist. We are also able to send you for x-rays and MRI scans directly, if we feel that further investigation is warranted.
Out treatment approach is very gentle and holistic, based on a particular chiropractic protocol called Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT). We will also provide exercise and ergonomic advice and other things you can do to help yourself to enhance your treatment and make long-term changes to prevent further problems. Nutritional advice may also be provided and we may also use kinesiology to test for any nutritional deficiencies or food intolerances. After a treatment, many patients feel an immediate relief of symptoms and may have an increased feeling of well-being or increased energy levels.
Because chiropractic treatment provides a natural approach to healthcare and an alternative to drugs, painkillers and surgery, it is safe and gentle enough to be used on people of all ages and conditions, including the elderly, babies/children and pregnant women.
