Pregnancy is one of the most wonderful times in a woman's life. At the same time a woman's body goes under tremendous transformations, including an influx of hormones combined with weight gain, altered body shape and shifting organs to accommodate the growing baby. Consequently, the journey can be uncomfortable and all pregnant women can expect a little stiffness and muscular tension. Massage during this time can provide great benefit to the pregnant woman, not only promoting physical well being, but also helping her to prepare mentally for the process of labour. Massage therapy offers the mother a safe, nurturing and relaxing way to relieve the common discomforts she may be experiencing and when a woman feels healthy in her body and mind, she will manifest a more positive birth experience.
The service is provided by Rebecca at her clinic based in Newbury Park, Ilford, Essex. Rebecca can use aromatherapy, swedish and shiatzu techniques along with stretching work tailored to your needs. In addition she offers a relaxing facial massage and massage which works specific problem areas. Rebecca provides support for the birth partner,teaching specific massage techniques to help aid the mum to be in labour. Throughout your treatments Rebecca can demonstrate some gentle exercise routines to help with postural problems and strenghten your body.

Hello,
My name is Rebecca Kadria Wright (MA, DipSW, ITEC). I have diploma's in Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology and Aromatherapy from the International Therapies Examination Council (ITEC). I also have extensive post graduate training in Shiatzu, mobilisation techniques/proprioception work and face massage. I have an Advanced Diploma in Pregnancy Massage from Wellmother and I have found that working with pregnant women is where my passion lies.
I am passionate about the healing power of massage and aromatherapy and continue to improve my knowledge in these areas.
Originally I trained for a Masters Degree in Social Work at Goldsmiths College and spent my final year placement at St.Bartholomew's Hospital, the centre of excellence for cancer care in the United Kingdom. Since then I have worked for many years as a hospital social worker. As such I am accustomed to working with people with differing emotional, physical and mental difficulties. I worked for many years as a palliative social worker helping people with terminal illness.
