Welcome to Thai Massage, Yoga & Reiki in Byfleet
My name is Audrey , a British name for a French person.
I was born in France and live there until beginning of 2000 where I decided to come and live in the Uk for 6 months in order to learn English. I liked it so much that I am still living here! I started practising Yoga as I arrived in the UK and learned English at the same time.
The beginning of a journey which led me to train as a yoga teacher with the BSY and with Godfrey Devereux (Dynamic Yoga) in 2006/7 and with Anne-Marie Newland (SunPower Yoga) in 2008.
I have been practising with a number of other teachers : David Sye, Duncan Wong, to name only a few and I am regularly attending workshop and intensives. So my style is quite an intuitive eclectic mix of Ashtanga , Sivananda and Vinyasa Yoga.
While on the SunPower Teacher Training in Greece in 2008, I discovered Thai Yoga massage, and decided to train with Niclaire Skye (British School of Traditional Thai Massage) in 2009. My Thai Massages is smooth, relaxing , detoxifying, helping you to release stress or tension in your body.
I now offer a very popular combination of a 1-2-1 Yoga followed by Thai Massage or Reiki.
In 2010, I continue my journey with Yoga Therapy training with a number of fantastic teacher such as Fiona Agombar, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli or Ruth Gillmore to name only a few.
Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Massage is a 2,000 years old healing art for relaxing the body and the mind. I practice the gentler Northern Style “Nuad Bo Rarn”.
Also called Thai Yoga Massage it is like having yoga done to your body without any effort on your part. The muscle stretching which takes the form of yoga style asanas, frees up joint spaces and deepens the stretch in a way that is passive for the recipient, yet very active in its effects. As it is similar in style, Thai Massage also offers similar benefits to yoga : flexibility, internal organ massage, oxygenation of the blood, mobilization, postural alignment, and quieting of the mind.
The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body's energy ("Sen") lines and pressures points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Yoga
Practicing Yoga regularly as part of a balanced lifestyle can enable you to experience many physical benefits: especially , improved muscle and joint flexibility , an increased endurance, and a better posture. Yoga helps build awareness of your body's posture, alignment and patterns of movement while also providing much needed relaxation techniques.
Yoga can have physiological and psychological benefits. It has been shown to improve the lives of asthma sufferers by preventing attacks without the use of medicines.
It can help respiratory problems by teaching people how to control their breathing. It can lower blood pressure, improve lung efficiency and lower heart rates. Other conditions, which can be improved through the use of yoga, include chronic fatigue, varicose veins, diabetes and digestive disorders.
On a deeper physiological level, the practice of Yoga improves digestion and elimination. When you start to stretch and twist and bend and do all these things that put pressure on the internal organs, digestion and the elimination processes improve.
Reiki
Reiki is the name given to a system of natural energy balancing and de-stressing healing technique which evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui . He was inspired to develop this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment, It is completely safe, natural and holistic method of hands-on healing. It stimulates the body’s natural self-healing ability. Reiki goes to the deeper levels of a person’s being where many diseases have their origin, it works wherever it is most needed within the body, mind or spirit; releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of balance and wellbeing.
