Welcome to Suzanne Johnson Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of deep relaxation in which our minds become more open to suggestion. The Hypnotherapist uses special techniques to help you to become as relaxed as you can be and then utilises this state to help you to achieve your goals.

There is a common misconception that hypnosis will make you lose control. This is not the case at all, you will be aware of what is going on and able to come out of the hypnotic state at any time. Also your subconscious will only accept and implement things it sees as being for your benefit which does not usually involve clucking like a chicken, unless in some way your subconscious sees this as being particularly beneficial to you!

What can it help with?

Hypnotherapy can help with many things from helping you sleep better and stress relief to stopping smoking and phobias. Hypnotherapy is also very effective when used alongside a weight loss program or to help improve confidence and self esteem or motivation.

Is it suitable for me?

Hypnosis may not be appropriate for the following people:
  • Those suffering with mental health problems Sufferers of Epilepsy
  • Sufferers of Chronic Depression
  • Those using Tranquilisers or similar medication Women in the early stages of pregnancy
If you are unsure if hypnotherapy would be appropriate for you please get in touch and we can discuss it, if it is not suitable I may be able to suggest a more appropriate therapy for you.

Relaxation and Guided Visualisation Classes

Relaxation, like most things, its something we learn. It's something that gets easier with practice. Using gentle relaxation techniques we can train our minds and bodies to relax with ease. This can help with sleep problems, stress, anxiety and general relaxation.

During an hour long Relaxation and Guided Visualisation Class you will be guided through a series of images designed to calm the mind and relax the body. I always try to leave time at the end of the class for discussion or questions about the experience. Everyone experiences the visualisations differently, as everyone has different memories to draw on so this can prove to be a very interesting discussion.

Classes are held at Evergreen Wellness Centre on the first Sunday of every month.

As you will be lying still for the majority of the class it is recommended that you bring along a warm blanket and wear comfortable clothing. You can also bring along eye beanbags or anything else you feel will help with the relaxation experience.

I am a fully qualified professional therapist registered with The Hypnotherapy Society and an accredited member of The Counselling Society.
