Arthritis
Arthritis is a disorder that causes inflammation of the joints and is often accompanied by chronic pain. There are numerous forms of arthritis, the most common being Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
These can be dealt with very effectively using the EMS treatment. Joints get inflamed in both conditions and it is the inflammation that causes the damage. Synovial fluid, which is a fluid within the joint which assists in the lubrication and nutrition of the joint, changes chemically to attack the cartilage and the sacs around the joints. Once the cartilage is gone, then bone scrapes on bone and that can be very painful.
Arthritis
The benefits to Arthritis patients after treatment with the EMS therapy include:- Increased nutrition to the cells
- Improved mobility
- Improved circulation in the joint

Back & Joint Pain
Managing pain, whether acute pain or nagging discomfort, is essential when treating Back and Joint conditions. With EMS Therapy treatment, clients are frequently able to reduce their reliance on conventional medication and pain relief.
EMS Therapy is a side effect free and non-invasive therapy in it’s effectiveness in pain management and the results are well documented.
Along with managing pain, the reduction of swelling is important - EMS therapy promotes rapid healing by mobilising the body's resources. Reducing swelling can enhance mobility, while improving the drainage around damaged joints can make a major difference to the way someone feels about their condition.

Chronic and Longer term illness
EMS Treatment for Longer term and chronic illness takes place on an electromagnetic bed. The treatment is in two parts. In the first part the whole body is treated on a full bed while in the second part the most affected body part is selected and a smaller appliance is used. A session takes around half an hour. The person treated stays fully clothed throughout. The treatment is totally painless and free of any side effects, and it is safe because no foreign bodies are introduced and the magnetic induction is low. The EMS System we use is the only clinically tried and tested therapy available on the market today that does not produce negative side effects, making it the most effective way of creating a better quality of life by vastly improve mobility, reduce pain and swelling of individual joints in a natural side effect free way. Provision of substantial pain relief accompanies the treatment for many conditions.
The benefits of the EMS treatment include:
- Improved pain
- Enhanced mobility
- Increased bladder control,
- Improved balance
- Enhanced vision.
To further supplement the treatment, Crystal Light Therapy is also available, to enhance the hypothalamus and to strengthen the neuron pathway connections already gained by EMS treatment.
EMS (Electromagnetic Stimulation) is a most beneficial treatment for the following conditions:- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s
- Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis and joint disorders.
- Osteoporosis
- Alzheimer’s
- Dermatological Conditions, inc eczema and psoriasis.
- Bone fractures and breaks
- Injuries to tendons and muscles
- Ulcers
- Strokes
- Migraine

The “M” Technique
Touch
Touch is one of the most basic forms of communication, yet many of us are afraid to touch those who need it most and who may be feeling ‘skin hunger’. The 'M' Technique® is simple enough to teach a child, yet it evokes a rapid and profound relaxing effect.
The "M" Technique
The 'M' Technique® is a registered method of touch suitable for the very fragile or when massage is inappropriate. It is a series of stroking movements performed in a set sequence at set pressure.
The 'M' technique® works on skin receptors that send signals to the brain. The technique has been described as physical hypnotherapy and a 'spiritual dance'.
Discovery
Dr Jane Buckle created the 'm' technique® as a communication tool for nurses. Her patients were critically ill: many had breathing tubes and were unable to talk. She wanted to find a way of communicating with her patients and felt that touch was the way.
Dr Buckle trained in massage, but found that much of what she learned was inappropriate in a critical care setting. So, she started experimenting with slow stroking movements. Gradually a pattern emerged and the 'M' Technique® was born!
The ‘M’ Technique® can have measurable therapeutic effect on:- Fear
- Anxiety
- Grief
- Anger
- Chronic Pain
- Chronic Fatigue
- Depression
- Headaches
- Insomnia
- Migraines
- Sprains and strains
- Low immune Function
- Stress

Pain Relief
The effective management of pain is a key task when working with someone with an acute or chronic condition. EMS has been proven as an effective therapy in the management of pain.
The EMS process aids the body in clearing harmful substances from the system. By improving cell health and communication, the body can accelerate healing.
Please remember that the treatment is non-invasive.
During a session, the first half is the treatment of the whole body while the second half thee most affected part is selected using a specialised smaller “pad”. After the first, each session takes around 30 minutes. The first session will take longer as we carry out a full assesment so we know about your medical history and regime.

Sports Injuries
Sports injuries are healed more quickly by accelerating the rebuilding of cells, rehydrating and oxygenation.
EMS treatment accelerates the re-building of cells around injuries.
The universal effect of low frequency magnetic fields application, EMS treatment, is the reduction in pain. It is achieved by the rapid release of beta-endorphins. In most cases, and especially in migraines, the effect is very rapid. However, in chronic pain associated with degeneration of joints and spine, usually there is an initial increase in pain followed by marked reduction after 4-5 treatments. Virtually all studies quoted below refer to the pain reducing effects of EMS.
Because of its effect on the body, users of EMS are frequently able to reduce their reliance on conventional medication.

Electro-Magnetic Stimulation (EMS) Therapy
EMS Therapy
Sessions on our electro-magnetic bed provides a safe, non-invasive, drug-free treatment to reduce the painful symptoms of many major conditions.
The generation of variable magnetic fields of extremely low frequencies and low intensity are well-documented to work as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-spastic, regenerative and relaxant. The system works with the body's natural frequencies to speed up the natural healing process, reducing pain, improving health and helping to reverse or eliminate many other symptoms. Many clinical studies have proven the safety and efficacy of the system we use. It is the only one in the UK to be EU certified and has won prestigious medical innovation awards across Europe.

What happens during a treatment?
Initially, you will receive a consultation followed by a treatment that will specifically meet your needs.
You simply lie fully-clothed on the bed whilst the low-induction electro-magnetic stimulation (EMS) system is switched on. There is no sound and most people do not feel anything - a slight warmth or tingling at the most.
Treatments usually last for half an hour and painful or problem areas may be targeted specifically.

Theragem
Crystal Light Therapy
Kick start the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Used for a wide range of health problems, electronic gem therapy induces energy into diseased or injured tissue, organs or glands. It is a gentle, non-invasive technique that uses the dielectric resonating properties of crystalline precious gem stones to kick start the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
It is a muscle and nerve relaxant (anti-spasmodic), has analgesic properties, can be a powerful sedative, increases circulation and biological energy, and is an anti-coagulant. See Treatments for the disorders that Theragem is recommended for.
How does it work?
Certain crystals, or gem stones, can act as resonators or transducers of electromagnetic energies. They can therefore transform or amplify other forms of energy, and can influence the electro-magnetic energy which is contained in the cells of the human body. Colours also have an effect on living cells.
Combining natural healing frequencies with colour and gem stones can influence the vibrational rates of cells, organs and glands, thus creating a healing process.
Tell me about what happens?
The gem stones are encased in a chamber which is inside low voltage lamps. Low voltage electronic pulses stimulate their resonance and this is then introduced by lamps to the part of the body that needs therapy.
Who can benefit?
This therapy is particularly suitable for children with asthma and eczema and is also beneficial for adults with:- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Anxiety and Depression
- Arthritis

Beam Ray
Rife Technology
The Centre 4 Health is pleased to be able to offer one of the greatest healing technologies ever invented - the Beam Ray, also known as Rife Technology.
In 1920 Dr Royal Raymond Rife invented a microscope that could view microbes that ordinary white light microscopes could not see. They reached magnification levels of up to 35,000 times, which had never before been reached. This microscope was the first to see the virus that begins and propagates cancer cells.
Dr Rife then developed an instrument which, in co-ordination with the microscope, administered electronic frequencies to the body that would resonate with the chemical constituents of a virus and could devitalise or obliterate dangerous microbes like bacteria, viruses and fungal entities that create disease and suffering. In 1934 he ran a study of his treatment with the result that all 16 people taking part were saved from terminal cancer. Remarkable results but then, controversially, the development of his pioneering work stopped, his notes lost and alternative methods of treatment pursued.
Today, there are people around the world who have reconstructed the Rife microscope and frequency generator. At EMS Pain Relief Sanctuary we use what we believe is the most accurate and effective Rife Technology equipment in the world.
Who can benefit?
A wide variety of conditions stemming from viruses, bacteria, phages and macrophages may be treated by the Beam Ray.
How the treatment works
With the Beam Ray frequency instrument no tissue is destroyed, no pain is felt, no noise is audible, and usually no sensation is noticed. A client may sit or lie down with the tube facing the body, the tube lights up and the machine switches off when the treatment is completed. The virus or bacteria is destroyed and the body then recovers itself naturally from the toxic effect of the virus or bacteria. Several disease forms may be treated simultaneously.

Reflexology at centre4health with Jan Rice-Tarry
An opportunity to discover your inner world of health – right at your feet…
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology has become a widely known and popular choice of alternative, or complementary health care treatment.
It combines a relaxing massage to the feet and ankles with attention to ‘reflex points’ (occurring on the soles, sides and tops of each foot) with more specific touch and pressure techniques which can be adapted accordingly to suit individual needs.
What benefits can it offer?
Reflexology is recognised and used as a 'holistic' form of therapy. Holistic, being derived from the Greek word holos - meaning 'whole' - indicates that it is a 'whole person' treatment, addressing body, mind and spirit as one.
It has the potential, therefore, to be of benefit to a wide range of conditions or issues, whether physical or emotional, then subsequently be enjoyed as a regular 'maintenance treatment' to support a person's well being.
Significantly, reflexology treatments promote:
The release of endorphins: the body's feel good hormones, which can also provide pain relief.
A state of deep relaxation: this is where the body can best set about it's own natural healing processes - something it is always striving to do, even with the challenges and changes life may bring such as injury, ill health, the ageing process or a stressful lifestyle.
Reflexology
What does it involve?
Socks and shoes need to be removed so that the feet can be massaged with cream or powder. Whilst the client reclines comfortably in a chair or on a couch, the practitioner massages and works on the feet, one at a time.
The treatment is based on the principle that the reflex points correspond to the organs, glands, structures and areas of the body. Precisely how this system of correspondence works is not clearly understood (various theories have been debated) and it’s effects currently remain scientifically unproven. However, the positive experiences gained by many people are well documented, and it’s increasing application as part of patient care in clinical settings clearly validates it’s acceptance as a positive choice in people’s health today.
How was it developed?
The concept of reflexology as it is known and practiced today arose out of the work in the early 1900’s by Dr. William Fitzgerald in the USA. He developed his discovery, theory and practice of Zone Therapy and it’s use in pain relief,, including anaesthesia. A student of his, the physiotherapist Eunice Ingham, further developed his findings and so the ‘body map’ on the feet was created and evolved along with the techniques to use effectively with it. An English student trained with Eunice Ingham in the 1960’s and introduced the practice to England.
However, it is relevant to note the historical evidence showing massage/pressure to the feet as a therapeutic health treatment dating back thousands of years. It appears that the early origins for this form of treatment existed in Egyptian, Indian and Native American Indian cultures.
Can anyone receive reflexology?
It is widely acknowledged that reflexology is a very safe, natural treatment, making it suitable for people of all ages. However there are a few conditions such as thrombosis or uncontrolled blood pressure problems that make it unsuitable, and some that require careful consideration for perhaps modifying the treatment or obtaining guidance/permission from a doctor.
How long are the treatment sessions?
Treatments usually take about 45 minutes to complete within an hour’s appointment, but shorter treatments may be appropriate to suit individual needs (particularly for a child). The initial appointment is longer as it includes a pre-treatment consultation (there is no extra charge for this).
As to how many treatments to have and at what intervals, this is open to individual choice with regard to varying factors and perhaps the reason/s why reflexology has been selected as a therapy. For someone new to reflexology, a series of 4-6 sessions on a weekly to fortnightly basis is certainly an ideal personal plan. This is helpful to achieve optimum benefit given the nature of the treatment and how it’s effects bring balance to, and support the body’s natural health and healing processes.
