John Lancaster has been successfully treating patients for 6 years now as an osteopath and an additional 4 years as a sports injury therapist. John prides himself on performing a thorough assessment, forming a correct diagnosis and helping patients regain their health as quickly as possible.
Just to give you a little insight into John's private life, he loves martial arts and golf equally. He is a qualified pilates teacher as well as a boxing instructor.
Conditions We Treat
A wide range of musculoskeletal disorders including back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, and sport and work-related injuries respond especially well to osteopathic treatment.
Other commonly treated conditions include pregnancy care, migraine, asthma, arthritic pain, digestive disorders, muscle tears, slipped discs, trapped nerves and whiplash.
There are currently 3,700 osteopaths registered in the UK, seeing an estimated 25,000 patients a day.
A recent MRC trial comparing treatment options for lower back pain (UK BEAM Trial), found that spinal manipulation, added to GP care, is clinically effective and the most cost-efficient option for patients in the UK.

John treats many many varied injuries and pain, from lower back pain, disc herniation, trapped nerves, frozen shoulder to migraines, muscle tears, golfers elbow and arthritis.
John is a trained pilates teacher and martial arts instructor, so if you need training in these areas please ask John about setting up a session.
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
At undergraduate level, five year BSc Honours degree programme with extensive clinical training from the outset. Osteopaths are committed to lifelong learning through a system of mandatory Continuing Professional Development. Osteopaths have to attend 2-6 courses a year in order to increase their knowledge in the ever changing world of medicine and health care.
