David is a Consultant Psychotherapist and has many years experience as a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, counsellor, art therapist and supervisor. In addition to working in private practice, he is also Manager of a Specialist Psychotherapy Service for an NHS Trust in Kent. He has been involved in training and writing and through his teaching and publications he is now one of the leading psychotherapists in this field. With a national and international reputation, he is at the leading edge of understanding the therapeutic relationship with clients. Having gained insights from extensive work with a wide variety of people with different problems both in the NHS and the private sector, his influence in the field of psychotherapy and counselling is considerable. He has taught widely around the UK and Europe, is the author and editor of several books about psychotherapy, has published in a number of international and national psychotherapy journals and his first book has been translated into German.
