What is Pilates?
Pilates is a body-conditioning method that targets deep postural muscles, often heard referred to as ‘core’ muscles. It will improve your posture, muscle tone and strength and flexibility. Body Control Pilates is based on eight key principles:- Relaxation
- Breathing
- Concentration
- Flowing Movements
- Alignment
- Co-ordination
- Centering
- Stamina
Pilates is ideal for people from all walks of life; from top athletes to first time exercisers. It is recommended by medical specialists for those with back problems. Because of the unique way Body Control Pilates works it is possible to adjust many exercises to suit the needs of people with physical restrictions.
On-Site Massage
Amanda performs seated acupressure massage, which is an ancient oriental form of massage. It is, in basic terms, acupuncture without the needles. This form of massage is performed over pressure points and trigger points on the upper body, and is received through clothing on a specially designed ergonomic chair.
Seated acupressure massage works over the body’s energy network. It calms and revitalises, leaving your mind sharp and your body refreshed and invigorated.Quick and effective, it is a fantastic stress buster and great for releasing energy and boosting the immune system.
