The benefits of having therapy with me is that my spiritual attunement enables me to move beyond the realms of human consciousness to a space where profound change can take place. My diverse training enables me to provide a package to suit you and your needs based on your life experiences and not the other way around which happens so often in therapy; when the client has to fit in into the prescribed mode of therapy. I aim to work beyond prescribed boundaries that causes human suffering to enable the individual to reach their full human potential.

HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy is distinctive in that it attempts to address the client’s subconscious mind. In practice, the Hypnotherapist often (but not exclusively) requires the client to be in a relaxed state, frequently enlists the power of the client’s own imagination and may utilise a wide range of techniques from story telling, metaphor or symbolism (judged to be meaningful to the individual client) to the use of direct suggestions for beneficial change. Analytical techniques may also be employed in an attempt to uncover problems deemed to lie in a client’s past (referred to as the “there and then”) or therapy may concentrate more on a client’s current life and presenting problems (referred to as the “here and now”). It is generally considered helpful if the client is personally motivated to change (rather than relying solely on the therapist's efforts) although a belief in the possibility of beneficial change may be a sufficient starting point.
Regardless of the techniques employed, perhaps the most important thing is that a client should expect to feel comfortable and at ease with their therapist. This is of particular importance in Hypnotherapy, in which the value of the treatment is greatly enhanced when there is confidence in the practitioner. For this reason it is recommended that a single session only is initially booked, leaving the client subsequently free to decide if they wish to proceed with more.
Unlike many other psychological therapies, Hypnotherapy is generally considered to be a fairly short-term approach in which beneficial change, if it is to occur, should become apparent within a relatively few sessions.
∞ What happens in the session? ∞
Many people who would like to try Hypnotherapy are anxious about what might happen in the session. Really there is no need to be! Hypnotherapy is a very natural process
Firstly, I would take some details from you and check that there are no medical reasons why Hypnotherapy would not be suitable for you.
Then we would discuss your aims and goals - Why you want Hypnotherapy
I would assess your personality type to see what style of Hypnotherapy would be most suitable for you. Working with my spiritual attunement I would start the Hypnotherapy session with an appropriate induction, for some this is a quick process, others may need longer, this is an individual process. At this stage some may feel very relaxed, others report they may feel very comfortable, but they are not asleep, as they may hear every word spoken to them, others may have a heightened sense of awareness.
Next, is the stage when i communicate with your subconscious and thus any unwanted behaviours etc are reframed, removed or adjusted. Lets not forget that the subconscious does make mistakes with our conscious thinking.
∞ Life regression ∞
In the case of life regression you are directed to travel back in time to re frame or adjust events which is empowering to the invidual and healing.
After this stage, which is mostly the longest part, you will be brought back to consciousness, ready and able to carry out your daily duties etc with the adjustments you have requested.
The whole session takes around an hour to complete.
PSYCHOTHERAPY & COUNSELLING
What happens in the Psychotherapy/ Counselling session ?
∞ What happens in the session/s. ∞
Firstly I would take some personal details from you. This can take sometime and would involve details of any mental illness, medication and ongoing , or previous counselling or psychotherapy sessions.
If everything is o.k we would discuss your aims and goals in therapy, length of sessions and approach.
Each session would last for one hour.
∞ What is Psychotherapy ∞
Psychotherapy, when compared with Hypnotherapy allows the client more time to explore their issues, which is why it is sometimes called the "talking therapy". It allows the individual to peel away at the mask or facade that may have been created through earlier experiences in life, to acknowledge "self" and to become the individual they truly are. It can involve Hypnotherapy and other techniques and areas such as diary keeping, dream diaries and homework.
The psychological effects of experiences such as loss, accidents, war trauma, physical attacks, work stress, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse, emotional neglect during childhood and so on can be profound and will be affected not only by the severity of the experience itself but also by such things as a person’s history of distressing events, learned ways of coping, differences in personality and temperament and so on.
Of course, common patterns can be identified, such as ‘flash-backs’ to traumatic experiences, and therapists have developed specific techniques that are helpful to many people.
Nevertheless, it is often very important to understand an individual person’s distress in the context of his or her own history and experience, personal coping strategies and personality. In this way the psychotherapy can be tailored to the individual.
The overwhelming evidence concerning the effectiveness of psychotherapy identifies two major contributors to successful therapy. These are firstly, factors relating to the person seeking therapy, such as their motivation to confront difficulties and work to make changes and, secondly, aspects of the relationship between the therapist and his or her client.
Particular techniques are shown to be useful but are less important and finally a general expectation of success, itself contributes to success. These findings are perhaps not surprising when we consider the nature of psychotherapy.
Unlike treatments based on drugs that can directly affect the body’s chemistry or destroy bacteria, psychotherapy is dependent on the therapist and client working together both to understand a client’s distress and to find ways forward suited to his or her personal circumstances and resources. It is a co-operative process.

∞ On becoming a spiritual therapist......... ∞
My belief as a spiritual therapist is that we all have emotional attachments to situations and events in this life or past lives, much of the work I do is centered around the client coming to terms with those events and releasing the effects they have been carrying with them. Attachements, and the feelings associated with it, will be felt by others and the client may not be aware of the reasons behind their life circumstances in the present, maybe feeling their life is unfair or unjust, or they do not want to feel the way they do anymore. It maybe that the individual feels that the same negative situation keeps happening and they are confused as to why? It maybe that a bereavement has affected them so deeply their emotions are blocked and they can not feel emotion freely anymore. It may be abuse from the past still influences negative choices in their life. The client may not be consciously aware that a smell or a sound brings back the past and the behaviours attatched to it. The spiritual therapies I work with help to release attatchments at the clients own pace.
