Gary has been an acupuncturist for 12 years, having established during that time his own successful practice at the Golders Hill Health Centre on North End Road, Hampstead. He treats a range of conditions from musculoskeletal discomfort and chronic conditions, to emotional disharmony and infertility. He also practices acupuncture as a tool for general health-maintenance and illness prevention, and teaches qi gong – the Chinese health and well-being practice – to groups and individuals. Gary has a considerable number of long-standing regular clients who will attest to his record but he thrives on the new and relishes a challenge.
Golders Hill Acupuncture Practice
Gary has worked in complementary medicine for over 15 years. He began his career in the United States as a myotherapist, working alongside chiropractors in Arizona in the treatment of athletes and swimmers as well as non-sports people. During this time he began to observe that causative factors such as stress and emotional imbalance were often behind the symptoms his patients presented with, requiring more than purely physical treatment to resolve.
Gary began studying eastern bodywork such as shiatsu which addresses the more energetic and emotional aspects behind a given physical condition, and in doing so gained an understanding of how to deliver a deeper, more complete treatment based entirely on the individual’s specific needs.
Gary returned to the UK in 1998, continuing to work as a myotherapist whilst studying to become a licensed acupuncturist. He has been a member of the British Acupuncture Council for 12 years and has held his practice at Golders Hill Health Centre for the last 10 years. His particular interests include the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and those that fall outside the conventional medical approach such as anxiety, stress and emotional disharmony.
