Welcome to Sue Shirley Reiki
I am a Master in both Reiki and Seichim, and have been practising Reiki Healer since early 1997.
I am also qualified in hot stone massage, which is a lovely complement to Reiki.
In addition to this I have an Honours Degree in Biology, a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. I am a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
In my full time role, I am a Human Resource Professional, with sixteen years managerial experience.
What isReiki
REIKI means "All that is," or "Spiritually Guided Life-Force." It has been handed down by word of mouth since the 1800's. Dr Mikao Usui was the principal of a boys' school when he decided to learn how Buddha and Jesus Christ healed the sick. After many years of searching, he was led to a Zen Monastery in Japan, where he found an ancient, sacred text which held the answer. Dr Usui went to Mount Kuri Yama to meditate. Here he was shown a vision of the four universal symbols for use in healing and Reiki attunements. Dr Usui devoted the rest of his life to healing and passed his knowledge on to others so they could carry on his work after his death.
REIKI is different for everyone. No guarantees can be made, however, there are many reports of Reiki miracles, including wounds healing, illnesses vanishing and tumours shrinking. I have witnessed some of these personally.
REIKI works on the chakras - the points of energy which correspond to the main nerve centres and body's organs, as well as working on the mind and emotions. Life-force is channelled through the practitioner's hands, enabling the body's own healing power to be activated. Reiki can safely be used on anyone, including pregnant women and those with injuries or on medication. Animals love it!
SEICHIM is similar to Reiki, and originates from Egypt (Seichim comes from the word Sekhem, you will some times see it spelt Seichem or SKHM). I've been told that it "completes" Reiki, making it more powerful. Seichim is chanelled by Living Light Energy from the source, so it is really just another aspect of Reiki. There are references to Sekhem in the scrolls found in the pyramids in Egypt, and symbols for the energy carved on the pyramids. The word Sekhem means "Power" or "Might" and has a close connection with the goddess Sekmet.
Seichim also helps to balance and re-align the yin (female) aspect of our being, on all levels.
Used together, Reiki and Seichim work to completely balance an individual's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.
Neither Reiki or Seichim can be used for harm, but should not be used as a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Healing sessions can be given whilst you are taking conventional medication without ill effects, and may, in fact, reduce unwanted side effects and enhance the effects of medication.

The first session with me includes a consultation about your medical history and reasons for wanting treatment (even if it just for relaxation!). All of this is completely confidential. If I should find something that I think may need treatment from a conventional practitioner or counsellor, I will tell you and advise you to seek help from others. I will, of course, continue to give you Reiki if you wish. Sessions usually take about an hour, the first one being a little longer.

As a Reiki Master, I am not only able to provide healing, but also to train and attune others to Reiki/Seichem Healing and Mastery.
