SERVICES
Welcome to Carol Robertson - Chartered Physiotherapist
HELPING YOU TO HELP YOURSELF
As a physiotherapist I provide a thorough assessment of your pain or mobility problem. Treatment and follow up are discussed and tailored to your individual requirements.
The range of physiotherapy treatments which I offer includes joint mobilisation, manipulation, therapeutic exercises, soft tissue and deep massage, relaxation techniques and energy bodywork. I usually include a home exercise programme to complement your treatment.
I am an active member of ACPEM - the association of chartered physiotherapists in energy medicine. I also offer electro-acupuncture as part of ACMOS bio-energetics.
About Us
PAIN is usually the problem which leads you to seek help from a physiotherapist. Often conditions which respond well to physiotherapy also respond to good quality advice. When you need specific advice or treatment consult a Chartered Physiotherapist.
Physiotherapists treat a wide variety of conditions affecting the way the body moves and quality of life.
These include:- musculoskeletal problems such as: back pain, neck pain, joint problems, overuse injuries such as repetitive strain, sports injuries, postural problems
- Orthopaedic rehabilitation e.g. return to optimal function following surgery or a fracture
- Neurological rehabilitation for those who have had a stroke or who have an ongoing illness such as M.S
- Stress management. Physiotherapy can reduce the effects of stress with a combination of relaxation techniques, massage and postural re-education
If stress reduction is your main aim then we would discuss whether physiotherapy techniques or an ACMOS consultation would best meet your needs.
Physiotherapists in the UK are regulated by the Health Professions Council to ensure that they update, adapt and maintain their skills on an ongoing basis. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is the professional body which promotes and develops physiotherapy.
