SERVICES
If you are reading this, it is likely that you are feeling something that is getting in the way of things. Maybe you are sad, angry, anxious, low, lonely or feeling something that makes it difficult to like yourself or others. Sometimes we don't have good enough words to describe what we are feeling, although we do know that we want things to change.
Julia's experience has shown her that talking about these things with someone trained to hear them -and respond to them- in a particular way, can often be hugely helpful. It won't "cure" you, and sadly cannot erase a painful past, but it can equip you to move on with greater ease, and even with a greater potential for further positive change.
You may want to know what she looks like, along with more about how she works, so please visit her website.
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
Julia Bueno has an Advanced Diploma (Ad Dip) and a Masters Degree (MA) in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling - awarded after a professionally accredited five year training (at Regent's College & Minster Centre). She regularly attends further courses to expand, update and improve her skills and knowledge. She is insured and regularly supervised.
As well as her private practice, she works for a counselling service in Newham and at an NHS Psychotherapy Service (SLAM NHS Trust). Prior to this, she worked at a university counselling service. This means she has the privilege of working with people from many walks of life and cultures, and presenting issues.
Julia has a particular interest and experience in working with women who have had a loss in pregnancy or a struggle with fertility. She is a Trustee of the Miscarriage Association (with experience of support work for them).
She is registered with the UKCP and as such is bound by its Ethics Code and subject to their professional complaints procedure. She is also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Before arriving at all of this, she had a brief career as a solicitor drafting tax-saving trusts in the City, after teaching law at UCL, London University (I have a BA Hons Jurisprudence from Oxford University, and a LLM Kings College, London University). She left the law (before it would have asked her to leave) in order to train as a reflexologist and pursue a part-time career as a feature/health journalist. This led her (via detours) to psychotherapy....
