Welcome to A-Firmative Health

At A-Firmative Health, we aim to give you as much help and assistance as possible to let you to make an educated decision about incorporating an exercise programme within your daily routine. As a Health and Fitness company, we continually strive to deliver a truly competitive service to our clients as far as the fitness industry is concerned, but more importantly, without a affecting the quality or content.

The concept of adopting personal training as an effective method for obtaining desirable health and fitness levels is a very brave (and extremely positive) step towards reaching your personal goals.

Most people believe that personal training is about building tailored exercise routines for clients to follow in order to lose weight, build muscle, or generally stay fit and healthy. Unfortunately, this is a big misconception (well, as far as A-Firmative Health is concerned, anyways). See some of the reasons why people use personal trainers.

Personal Training does involve setting up specific fitness routines to meet the client's wants and needs, however, it doesn't stop there. There are other things that we bring to the party...

The Consultation

To get the best out of training sessions, your Personal Trainer will arrange a consultation (or interview) with you, to gain a true understanding of what kind of program would suit you best. Below is an idea of what's involved:

Your introduction to A-Firmative - A run through of who we are, what we do, and how we do it. This involves A-Firmative Health's policies, how we approach each individual client, and of course, gain a true understanding of why you want / need a personal trainer.

Medical History - A couple of brief questionnaires to acquire an understanding of your medical history. This is key to outlining a exercise program specifically suited to your current health levels, with the right amount of overload required to get you to where you want to be.

Lifestyle Assessment - A discussion of a typical day from your point of view. This allows us to understand how we can advise on other aspects of training outside of just exercise.

Fitness Goal-Setting - A discussion about what you want from your training sessions and more importantly, how you're going to get it.

A consultation is held in a location of your choice and lasts approximately one hour. This is a good way for our trainers to get to know you, but also for you to get to know us - and ask as many questions about the training process as needed.
