Welcome to Motherhand Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a form of bodywork that is based in the Japanese tradition. It uses traditional Oriental diagnosis, Five Element Theory, Zen Theory and the same meridian systems and pressure points as acupuncture. It is non invasive, using touch, finger pressure, stretching and movement.
Ria Butler is a member of the Shiatsu Society and has a diploma from the British School of Shiatsu Do in Zen Shiatsu. She is now an assistant teacher at the school. Ria has practised Yoga for many years and is also a qualified First Aider.
About Motherhand-Shiatsu
Motherhand-Shiatsu provides treatments for private clients all week including a Thursday clinic at Eastern Garden from 12pm-7pm (visit www.easterngarden.co.uk). It also runs a service for corporate/office environments and for the entertainment/media industry.
Zen Shiatsu is a complementary therapy, which gives the body space to re-balance its energy and to find its own health both physically and emotionally.
There are many conditions for which shiatsu can be useful, such as:- muscular strains and aches
- back problems
- menstrual problems
- emotional strains
- fatigue
- insomnia
- discomfort during pregnancy.
It allows the receiver to reach a state of relaxation in order for change to come about. Treatments include structural corrections and realignment when appropriate.
