Standard Chiropody/Podiatry Treatment
This is the most commonly asked for treatment. This treatment begins with a relaxing footbath. An examination to include the skin, circulation and sensory perception in the feet.
Treatment may include the nails care/cutting and hard skin/callus or corns removal. The treatment is completed with an intensive foot cream being massaged into the feet. The podiatrist will discuss the current condition/health of the feet with you and can advise you about how best to improve/maintain their health
Foot Health Check
A limited examination of the feet to include the skin, circulation and sensory perception in the feet. The podiatrist will discuss the current condition/health of the feet with you and can advise you about how best to improve/maintain their health
Nail Cutting
This treatment begins with a relaxing footbath. The nails are cut, filed and is completed with an intensive foot cream massage.
Cryosurgery (for verrucae)
A course of cryosurgery (freezing) treatments has been well documented to be effective for the treatment of verrucae / plantar warts. This is usually repeated at three weekly intervals. An initial assessment will be needed to determine an individual's suitability for this treatment.
Biomechanical Assessment
This assessment involves a detailed physical examination of the feet and legs to determine the function of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments, and their effect on the bodies posture during standing and walking. The Podiatrist will be able to diagnose complications associated with these structures and whether they are linked to discomfort during movement or rest. Treatment will often include a course of exercises and the prescription of orthoses. Further treatments may also be required
Bespoke insoles and orthoses
Individually prescribed devices are available to improve foot function and relieve pressure within the feet. The podiatrist will be able to recommend/advise you about how these "in-shoe" devices could help you.
Nail Surgery
This procedure is available for the permanent resolution of painful ingrowing toenails. The procedure is undertaken with use of local anaesthetic. An initial assessment will be needed to determine an individual's suitability for this treatment.
