A little about myself
My name is Delia Williams. I have worked in primary education for 14 years, as a class teacher, dyslexia tutor and special needs teacher in the Tunbridge Wells area.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2003 and since then I have been working counselling adults, teenagers and children.
I have experience of working with clients in a number of settings, including two in primary care in West Sussex. I presently employed for a charity working with families as well as counselling children directly in schools
The focus of my private practice is children, young adults but also parents. My special interest is the impact of disability / special needs on the whole family
Presenting Problems
There is a way forward
All clients can present with one or more of the following issues: ill health, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, loss, obsessions and abuse. Others feel their life is ‘stuck’ and see no way forward.
These issues present in children and teenagers in different ways, often in their behaviour at school and/or home.
Additional pressures within society on young people can result in tensions within the family, school and peer group which sometimes cause emotional problems, frequently “acted out” in their behaviour.
