Reiki
What is ‘Reiki’?
Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki meaning universal life energy. Reiki is an ancient laying-on of hands healing technique that uses the life force energy to heal, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances and can be experienced in one two ways; The Reiki practitioner serves as a vessel that supplies healing energies where they are most needed using either a ‘hands on’ delivery, where Reiki’s ki-energies flow out of the practitioner’s body through the palms of the hands while they are touching the recipient’s body, or via ‘distance healing’.
How does it work?
Since everything generates a frequency, the body and its organs have their own energy field which is continually changing.
If this energy field or “life force” is low or blocked, we are more prone to illness or more likely to succumb to emotional strain.
Imbalances can be caused by a wide range of situations occurring in our lives, yet if we can maintain the balance of our individual ‘life force’ we can all benefit from being more relaxed and stress-free, which in turn promotes and amplifies our body’s own natural ability to heal.
Reiki healing energy provides a means to balance the human energy fields (Auras) and energy centres (Chakras) which in turn promote the optimal environment needed for the body’s healing system to function at its best.
The Reiki practitioner assists the client to heal themselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically by a simple laying on of hands. The practitioner channels the Universal Life Force energy (ki) allowing it to flow where needed to bring the client’s energy centres into alignment.
Long term practice of whole-body reiki can help restore the general condition of the body. It will open the energy channels and this will allow the body to deal properly and naturally with stress and the build-up of toxins, and to cope better with the stresses and strains, both physical and emotional, of every day life.
When a person is in good health, regular continuing therapy can bolster the body’s built-in physical and emotional defences. This can, in turn, result in an improved feeling of confidence and outward harmony when dealing with everyday events.
If used with other natural therapies (meditation, crystals, aroma therapy, Bach Flower remedies, homeopathy, etc.) Reiki will reinforce their effect. Equally, when used as a complementary therapy in tandem with traditional medicine, Reiki can complement and enhance the health care a patient receives in the hospital or from other health care providers.

About Crystal Therapy
Crystal Healing is an alternative, holistic therapy that is used to promote physical and emotional health and balance the vibrational energy that runs through the body. Various natural crystals may be used, depending on the issue to be treated and the vibrational properties of the crystal.
How it works
Crystals have the ability to hold and emit energy vibrations. For example, when a crystal is put in a watch the battery sends a constant charge through the crystal. The crystal absorbs the charge, and then releases it at such a precise rate that it is used to make the watch keep perfect time.
As a result of the crystals affect our electro-magnetic energy fields or subtle bodies which surround and permeate the physical body. These include etheric, emotional or mental bodies, which are collectively called the ‘aura’.
Crystals absorb, focus, direct and diffuse our energy fields to enable a diseased or out of balance body to find it’s natural energetic rhythm once again.
Animals/pet therapy
About Pet Therapy
It is not just humans that benefit from complementary therapies but our pets do also, most therapies that are used on humans can be used on animals too, maybe not a aromatherapy massage, where you are rubbing in oils into animals fur as some oils can be toxic, but you can use aromatherapy to aid a pet in ‘healing’ be it to help them breathe or to boost their energy/mood.
How it works
Unlike with humans, pets do not understand what is going on. In terms of Reiki, here at 7lilies we go with the flow and deal with each pet individually, due to Reiki being an energy therapy as long as the pet is getting the Reiki energy, it doesn’t matter what is happening – the pet getting a fuss where the area needing ‘help’ is not being focused on, or the dog can sit happily there with the therapist placing their hands where they feel they need to. If an animal gets too excited where treatment hands on will not be possible then it can be given ‘distantly’. For cats this is generally the best way… although even that way the therapist will still get the evil eye from the cat if in the same room! With Rabbits it depends if they want to sit still or not as to whether the distance therapy is to be given or hands on.
With crystal therapy, stroking the pet with the specific crystals can help rather than trying to get the pet to lay still and place crystals on the body, hoping they don’t move. But dowsing is mostly used – removing the bad energy and replacing it with good, this can be quite difficult as most pets with thing the crystal on a chain is a toy, but it can be a very effective tool to use in ‘healing’. Crystals should NEVER be placed in a pet’s bed or sewn on to their collars.
