About Dr Jo Neal
Dr Jo Neal is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. She holds Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow status with the British Psychological Society, and is a full member of the Division of Neuropsychology and the Division of Clinical Psychology. She is registered with the Health Professions Council.
Dr Jo Neal, specialises primarily in rehabilitation for acquired brain injury, both in community and inpatient settings, and in assessment and therapy for adults with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dr Neal also offers confidential therapy for self-referred individuals who have experienced other mental health problems.
Therapy is based on a cognitive-behavioural (CBT) approach, which may be adapted to suit the individual client. Sometimes, when problems are more complex and/or enduring, a more in-depth analysis and treatment plan is needed.
Dr Neal has been qualified as a Psychologist since 1998, and as a Clinical Psychologist since 2005. After qualifying as a clinician, she continued working for the NHS, but also worked privately on a part-time basis. She moved into full-time private practice in December 2006.
Dr Neal's experience has been primarily in community and inpatient neuropsychological rehabilitation, assessment and therapy, consultancy, and medico-legal work. She also specialises in the assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and works with adults who experience other anxiety or mood related problems.
Her clients include those referred by Case Managers, Solicitors, agencies, colleagues, and those who have self-referred.
