Welcome to Feel Good Yoga
Feel Good Yoga is more than just a way of keeping a fit mind and body.
It aims to gently improve strength, flexibility, co-ordination, balance, breathing and deep relaxation skills. It works on improving the function of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and hormonal system, bringing emotional stability and clarity of the mind and helps dealing with stressful situations.
What is Yoga?
The classical techniques of Yoga date back more than 5,000 years. In ancient times, the desire for greater personal freedom, health and long life and heightened self-understanding gave birth to this system of physical and mental exercise which has since spread throughout the world. The word Yoga means “union” and it brings the body and mind together into one harmonious experience.
The whole system of Yoga is built on three main structures: exercise, breathing, and meditation. The exercises of Yoga are designed to put pressure on the glandular systems of the body, thereby increasing its efficiency and total health. The body is looked upon as the primary instrument that enables us to work and evolve in the world and so a Yoga student treats it with great care and respect. Breathing techniques are based on the concept that breath is the source of life in the body.
The Yoga student gently increases breath control to improve the health and function of both body and mind. These two systems of exercise and breathing then prepare the body and mind for meditation and the student finds an easy approach to a quiet mind that allows silence and healing from everyday stress. Regular daily practice of all three parts of this structure of Yoga produce a clear, bright mind and a strong, capable body
About Us
Keeping a fit body and mind has always been important to Dimi. She was a Ski Instructor in her native Bulgaria before moving to England.
To balance the extreme physical side of skiing and her never ending exams in language school (she speaks fluent English, German and Russian) she began to try simple breathing and relaxation techniques in her aim to stay focused. In 1997 Dimi went to Ashtanga yoga class and felt completely at home, so it seemed a natural progression to practice more and more often. She gained so many positives and felt that she wanted to help others enjoy the emotional and physical benefits of yoga. In 2002 she qualified to teach.
Teaching for a number of years now, Dimi has found that it has given her an extra-ordinary vision on how the body moves and in turn this has been invaluable to both her and her students. Dimi is Hatha trained teacher but in her Feel Good Yoga practice she uses combinations of many different styles of yoga and uses the victorious “Ujjai” breath from the physical method of Ashtanga so that the sessions suit each and every individual person that she works with.
Currently Dimi leads general yoga classes, pre and post-natal yoga, yoga for children, over 50s and one-2-one sessions.
