Take That Step - I Can Help You Find a Way Forward
Most of us experience difficult times in our lives, or have feelings of being unfulfilled. These days, everything comes with instructions, even the simplest of household appliances, yet the most challenging event of being born into this world and we arrive with nothing. Counselling is, I believe, the instruction manual we were never given.
I can help you look at your life, past, present and future whilst being emotionally supported and professionally guided. We all need a map sometimes to see where we were, where we are and where we want to go. Fear or lack of confidence and self-worth can stop you achieving your full potential. Life experiences can make it difficult for you to move forward or prevent you from realising goals. A counsellor can help you look at your life from a different perspective and help you lead a more fulfilling life.
I see clients in person and you can contact me for this option, however, it is often difficult either to find the time or the will to go to a counsellor. Live online, telephone or e-mail counselling can provide you with a more convenient way to have the benefit of counselling, as it is often difficult to fit into a busy working day. Home visits can also be possible by agreed arrangement. Cost will vary according to distance.
My service is completely confidential. Payments and all personal details are held in a secure method. I provide counselling by online communications via MSN (webcam facility), Skype (webcam facility), e-mail and face to face counselling in person by appointment. Please follow the links to help you choose the method you would like to use the services I provide.
If you would like more information, or to book an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me.
About Me
My name is Heather Mallery, I trained and qualified at West Kent College as a Humanistic counsellor. I use various counselling theories including Transactional Analysis, Person Centred, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. During our sessions I can teach you how to relax using visualisation if appropriate.
I have worked for many years with people suffering from depression, lack of self-confidence/worth, abuse, addiction, anger issues, self-harming, eating disorders, domestic violence, phobias, relationship difficulties, sexual/gender issues, bereavement, loss, illness (including terminal illness), physical disability and mental health issues. I work in both the public sector as a Consultant for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and in private practice. I also run group therapy sessions.
I am open-minded and non-judgemental. I believe that we all hold our own answers but sometimes need help from someone who is not personally involved in our life and therefore has an unbiased perspective. As such, I can ask appropriate questions from an unemotional but empathic position that can help you see things more clearly and move forward in a positive and confident way. This is useful for both your personal and professional development.
Counselling can also be very supportive during a particularly challenging time in your life. It can help you offload your anxieties and feelings that may be difficult to discuss with others who may be personally involved or affected.
I am a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide at all times by their ethics. Please view these at www.BACP.co.uk All information you provide will be kept in the strictest confidence, in keeping with the BACP confidentiality guidelines.
I have an up to date and clean certificate of disclosure issued by the Criminal Records Bureau. I am fully insured.
If you have any questions just send me an e-mail, there is no obligation for enquiries.
