An Independent Mobile Physiotherapy Service direct to your home in the Derby area.
The service was set up in 2007 and caters for the client who wishes or needs to be seen in the convenience and comfort of their home.
About Andrea
Andrea graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2004 with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Her first physiotherapy post was with Derby Hospitals NHS Trust, where she gained a broad variety of experience in the many disciplines of physiotherapy. Andrea has worked in Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Outpatients (Gym), Orthopaedics, Elderly Rehabilitation, Medicals (Acute Neuro & Respiratory) and Learning Disabilities. Andrea is now a Senior Physiotherapist and continues to work part time in the NHS as a Specialist Community Physiotherapist.
Prior to practicing physiotherapy, Andrea was a successfull fitness professional in the Derby area for over 10 years. She taught a wide variety of group fitness classes including Box-a-cise, Kick, Circuits, Aerobics, Body Conditioning, Slide, Step, Aqua, Spin, Over 50's and schools, working independently and for employers such as Derby City Council, Derby Students' union, Breadsal Priory, and Lady in Leisure.
Andrea was a keen sportswoman and represented England students at volleyball. Having experienced various sports and work related injuries herself she gained an interest in spinal dysfunction and has continued to gain clinincal knowledge and skills in this area.
Andrea has successfully completed the first year of a Masters Degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Healthcare at Keele University, with the first year modules of Research Methods and Dynamic Ultrasound Imaging. Her other interests are side alternating whole body vibration and its possible use in mobility/balance rehabilitation.
Andrea is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy CSP and is regulated by the Health Professions Council HPC. She is commited to providing an evidence based management programme specific to individuals needs.
