Five Element acupuncture endeavours to find and treat the cause of disease (the fundamental imbalance within each patient),
return the patient to balance and then maintain their health in a preventative sense. By treating the patient’s core imbalance, and not just the associated symptoms, the patient is restored to their optimum health.
SERVICES
It is not always useful and can even be seriously detrimental to simply eradicate symptoms, leaving the cause of disease untreated and ready to manifest in time as yet another set of symptoms. Everything about each individual and who they are as a whole is taken into consideration in Five Element acupuncture as the deep, underlying disharmony within the mind and body is carefully addressed.
Specific health issues that lead a person to seek treatment will often improve once this essential level of balance has been reached. Patients also report improvements in general wellbeing, increased energy and a feeling of being more relaxed.
About Me
I began studying complementary therapies in 2000 by completing an ITEC diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage. But I found that the more I learnt about the human body, the more I realised that I didn't know. So I continued to increase my knowledge by completing courses in Human Physiology and Health and Human Biology.
I knew that I wanted to continue studying at a higher level, but I was unsure whether to enrol on a course in either Acupuncture, Chiropractic or Osteopathy. But although I have personally found Chiropractic and Osteopathy very usefull therapies, I felt that Five Element Acupuncture can often get deeper to the root cause of disease.
In 2008 I enrolled on a three year full time course in Warwick, at the College of Traditional Acupuncture. There I learnt various different therapies including Acupuncture, Cupping and Gua Sha. In 2011 I graduated with a First Class BA(hons) and Lic.Ac. in Five Element Acupuncture.
