Welcome to Amblecote Osteopathy
“Osteopathy is an established, recognised system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. It is distinctive in that it recognises much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from abnormalities in the function of the body structure as well as damage caused to it by disease.” (General Osteopathic Council).
Tensions may be held in the body long after physical trauma or stress is experienced. If left untreated they may result in compensations and symptoms of pain or discomfort. As a registered osteopath, I work to restore your musculoskeletal system to a state of balance and harmony. This may include a positive effect on digestion, breathing, your immune system and general health.
A detailed case history is taken follwed by examination, diagnosis and treatment using various techniques including manipulation, soft tissue work, ultrasound and/or the cranial approach. All ages are treated but technique is tailored to you as an individual.
Aromatherapy & Massage
Aromatherapy Massage is excellent for promoting relaxation and relieving stress. It combines the therapeutic benefits of quality aromatherapy essential oils with massage. Aromatherapy essential oils can be incorporated into other treatments to enhance pain relief and increase wellbeing.
Hot Stone Massage is a wonderful massage using massage oil, essential oils, if you wish, and hot basalt stones which are then placed on your body while you relax. Cooler marble stones may then be used to close pores and invigorate you.
Indian Head Massage (IHM) is based in the ancient system of Indian medicine known as Ayurveda. Ayur meaning life and Veda means knowledge/science so it is not that surprising that many of the areas covered also have important anatomical implications for treatment. You can opt for the clothed or aromatic version to achieve balance, calmness and improved circulation to help with aches and pains.
If you are not ready for massage then why not have a consultation/recommendation session. It includes a free bottle of massage oil or lotion for you or your child. There have been good results in treating cradle cap and some muscular aches and pains.
