COUNSELLING - Anne Ashton
Counselling can help us when we feel confused and distressed because of events that have happened to us. Or we may be feeling generally dissatisfied and unhappy, simply wanting life to be different.
During counselling you will be able to share your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. Together we will unravel the root of the problem you are bringing so that you gain a sense of understanding, power and purpose. This will help to move you towards a more relaxed, positive and happier way of living.
I incorporate various approaches into my work, for example – Transactional Analysis and Gestalt to bring about change and deal with crises by understanding what makes us do the things we do – and Motivational Counselling to inspire and achieve goals. My priority is that you feel safe, heard and respected at all times during sessions.
The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is important and I therefore offer an initial 30-minute meeting, without charge, to give you the opportunity to meet me and find out more about the way that I work.
I see individuals for short-term crisis work and long-term self-development. I also see couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship. As a supervisor, I see both students and experienced counsellors.
Counselling Sessions last for 60 minutes and cost £40 for individuals and £45 for couples. Concessions available. Please enquire.
About Anne: I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor. I gained a Certificate in Counselling in 1978 and a Diploma in Individual and Relationship Counselling in 1992. I founded my private practice in Devon in 2000 and prior to this worked in London running workshops and teaching counselling skills.
I also offer Supervision to experienced and student counsellors having gained a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision from the prestigious Cascade Training course (founded by Proctor and Inskipp).
Supervision and Mentoring
All counsellors should receive regular supervision as this is a requirement of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Supervision offers a collegial relationship to support you, as a Counsellor, to offer the very best that you can to your clients.
Supervison sessions are charged at £40 an hour and the length of the session is negotiated. Concessions are offered to students
