SERVICES
I am a Hatha and Yin Yoga Teacher , teaching classes and private one to one sessions either at my studio or in the comfort of your own home. Core Stability Ball coach, , Fitness Pilates teacher and a Yoga Teacher for Children. And a qualified Vegetarian and Vegan nutritional Therapist. Also a Personal Trainer.

HATHA YOGA
Being a Hatha Yoga teacher I take classes with up to 10 people or will do one to one sessions if required. After an initial consultation I will put together a sequence of postures relevant to your needs and ability. Yoga is a journey and as you progress so will the postures. You will get strength, toning, fitness, flexibility, peace of mind through the breathing techniques and postures.

Yoga has both preventive and therapeutic benefits. It has been shown to offer both physical and mental benefits to the body and the mind.

The many physical benefits of hatha yoga are:
  • it improves flexibility and muscle joint mobility
  • strengthens, tones, and builds muscles
  • corrects posture; strengthens the spine
  • eases back pain
  • improves muscular-skeletal conditions such as bad knees
  • tight shoulders and neck
  • swayback and scoliosis
  • increases stamina
  • creates balance and grace
  • stimulates the glands of the endocrine system
  • improves digestion and elimination
  • increases circulation
  • improves heart conditions
  • improves breathing disorders
  • boosts immune response
  • decreases cholesterol and blood sugar levels
  • and encourages weight loss . I have recently had two rowers take me on to do yoga with them on a one to two basis as their coach realises the importance of yoga in a heavy fitness and training schedule. Realising that yoga will help them with their breathing, their concentration, their fitness, stamina and most of all their flexibility to make sure they remain injury free.

  • YIN YOGA is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time - for beginners it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes, more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body - the tendons, fascia and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. There are lots of props used in this style of yoga to disengage the muscles so that the moderate stress can be applied to the connective tissues. Because of the nature of Yin the classes are much smaller having a maximum of 10.

    CORE STABILITY BALL
Using the core stability ball or fitball concentrates on deep postural muscles as well as training the visible abdominals, biceps, hamstrings etc. All over body toning exercises will address and improve: Aerobic capacity, Stretching, strengthening, relaxation, balance co-ordination and postural control. It is suitable for use in a rehabilitation programme if coming back from injury.

    FITNESS PILATES
FP is a training option that focuses on the body as a human kinetic chain. It is a group exercise programme designed to enhance the posture strength balance and stability of a healthy adult based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates. It is not remedial or diagnostic its approach has its base firmly in group fitness. It will help lengthen tight muscles through stretching exercises combing with strengthening exercises to increase the tone of lax muscles.
