Welcome to Barefootmummy.comGreen living is now a household phrase and after being an eco minded person since my early teens I fully intended on continuing this lifestyle throughout motherhood and on through all aspects of our family life. After finding parenthood to be a complete information overload I wanted to support others to have the confidence to parent instinctively, live naturally and to work towards a new brighter future for our children. What better place to start then at the beginning?
My business is completely focused on supporting families who want to live more naturally. I aim to provide a holistic approach to the information, services and therapies I offer.
For me natural living is not about doing everything its about doing what you can and what feels right to you.
About Barefoot Mummy - herself!
Whilst growing up I had always wanted to become a midwife. At 16 though I was diagnosed with epilepsy, one of the few medical conditions that would prevent my application from being accepted. I turned to my other great passion - nature, and began working with animals & wildlife. I studied for a National Diploma in Animal Care and then went on to study for a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour & Natural History. I focused much of my coursework on mammalian reproduction and development, with a particular interest in primates. On leaving university I began working with young children in schools and clubs and also on developing my skills in project work whilst working for national charities & organisations such as the RSPB, RNIB, SSAT and the NHS.
As soon as my daughter arrived I knew I would want to stay at home with her, especially as I hoped to home educate, so began plans for my own business - on my own terms. I began my training as a practitioner, and now a few years later am not only a proud mother and wife but also a proud business owner, practitioner & birth professional!
About Barefoot Mummy - the business
My unofficial company motto of 'all your baby needs is you' is not the best way of selling lots through my shop & stalls - but this is not my intention! I provide a shop to assist other natural living families in finding products that I have found useful myself and to help provide a smaller version of the one stop shop with all of the important stuff in one place.

I chose to only stock eco/ethical products that I either currently use or have used and would recommend to others. All of the companies I work with have excellent ethical & eco prudentials. Visit my shop page to read more about the individual companies.
I support Royal Mail by using their postal services and use recycled packaging provided by local businesses.
