Welcome to Birch Tree Yoga
Karen is the owner and director of Birch Tree Yoga, with a wide and varied teaching background. Trained originally as a P.E. Teacher, specialising in Gymnastics & Dance her natural love of movement and fitness has always been present. After years of teaching Sports and Health & Fitness to adults and children in the UK, France and Greece, Yoga was a natural progression.
What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga, the most popular form of Yoga in the West, is an ancient, intelligent, holistic approach to health and fitness. It teaches the art of taking personal control of your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
A typical class is composed of moving the physical body in poses (ASANAS) breath work (PRANAYAMA) relaxation and meditation.
The Benefits
Regular practice gives improved muscle tone, strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination. Awareness of the breath is developed and improved respiratory function improved. In the long term improvements are often found in the mind and the emotions as well, helping you to face the turmoil of life with steadiness and stability.
