Aromatherapy

30/60/75 minute aromatherapy massage treatment (£35, £45, £55)

Pure essential oils derived from plants, flowers, trees, fruits, barks, seeds and grasses that have medicinal benefits are individually blended following your consultation to optimise your health and treat a wide variety of conditions. Different oils affect many of the body’s systems and encourage natural healing.

The natural chemical constituents of essential oils are carried in the blood stream with a therapeutic effect, certain oils have an affinity with particular areas of the body and their properties have a balancing, sedative or stimulating effect on the body systems, and aromatic signals are sent to the brain where they exert a direct effect on the mind and emotions.

An aromatherapy massage treatment may be relaxing, energising or remedial depending upon your requirements.

Following your aromatherapy massage treatment certain essential oils or products may be recommended to continue your treatment at home.

Deep Tissue Massage

30, 45, 60 or 75, 90 minute deep tissue massage treatments. (£35, £45, £55, £70)

A deep tissue massage treatment is a therapeutic massage to the deeper levels of muscle tissue, fascia and ligaments that releases chronic tension, pain and inflammation. It uses many techniques including dynamic petriassage to the muscles, tendons and fascia; neuromuscular and trigger point techniques, direct pressure, squeezing techniques and static compressions.

A deep tissue massage is a very effective treatment for sports and other injuries.

Deep tissue massage helps to soften hard fibrous tissues and separate adherent fibres. This allows circulation and nutrients to reach all the cells and removes waste products so it relieves pain, congestion and inflammation. It can also help to break up and eliminate scar tissues and improves circulation to the skin and improves skin tone.

..................................................................

Hot/ Cold Stone Massage

Full Body 60 /90 minute treatments (£50, £70)

The hot stones enable deep relaxation and increase circulation so help to remove toxins from the body. One stroke with a hot stone is equivalent to 7 strokes by hand so you can expect a really thorough massage experience.

In certain cases cold stones are also used to relieve pain and inflammation.

Working with hot and cold stones causes a rollercoaster effect of blood vessels widening and narrowing which flushes the body so that optimum healing can occur. This is a relaxing and nurturing treatment.

Indian Head Massage

45 minute treatments (£35)

We often hold significant stress and tension in our face and scalp and Indian head massage is a quick and effective stress reduction treatment.

Indian head massage may help to relieve headaches, migraines, eyestrain, sinus issues, neck and shoulder stiffness and general fatigue.

A variety of techniques are used to ease tension, reduce fibrous knots and improve the circulatory and lymphatic systems. The client remains seated and clothed throughout the treatment.

Integrated Massage

60/75/90 minute treatments. (£45, £55, £65)

This holistic treatment draws upon all the different massage styles and traditions to give you a wonderful massage.

Deep tissue, medical massage and trigger point therapy techniques are used to release areas of tightness and tension. Myofascial release and Thai massage techniques are incorporated to open and stretch the body as a whole. Delicious aromatherapy oil blends are used to enhance the treatment and nurture the soul.

Energy balancing and Reiki healing is offered to soothe emotions, rejuvenate energy and ease energetic blockages that may be the root cause of tension experienced within the body.

Yoga relaxations, visualisations and breathing techniques may also combined in this treatment to aid relaxation and redirect the mind.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Full Body – 75 minutes. Targeted Areas (eg. Legs) – 45 minutes. (£55, £35)

Manual lymphatic drainage is an advanced therapy whereby a range of specialised, gentle pumping and stroking techniques are used to move lymph toward the lymph nodes and ducts.

When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, fluid builds up and stagnates, causing the entire system to become toxic and less effective. This manifests itself as lethargy, fluid retention and an increased susceptibility to viral or contagious diseases.

MLD helps to clear lymphatic blockages, metabolic wastes and toxins from the body & so reduces lymphoedema, odema, fluid retention and cellulite. MLD boosts immune levels, and can be helpful in the management of ME and CFF. It also calms the nervous system and is very good for relieving stress and tension. It boosts collagen fibres and reduces puffiness and improves the appearance of skin.

Relaxation & Labour Massage

60 minutes tuition with partner. (£50)

This is an opportunity to prepare for childbirth with your birth partner and learn some basic breathing techniques and visualisation techniques for childbirth, and simple but effective massage stokes that your partner can employ throughout labour.

The way in which we breathe is so important. When an individual is calm, respiration tends to be slower, more rhythmic and smoother. When air enters and exits the body through the nose rather than via the mouth, more resistance occurs and exhalation therefore tends to last longer. In this relaxed state, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, blood vessels dilate and circulation is able to replenish all the cells of the body without stress to the heart.

As well as breathing techniques, a couple of simple visualisations will be offered as these can be useful tools to manage anxiety and internalise and your experience of childbirth. Whatever environment you choose for childbirth there may be times throughout your labour when you wish to take your awareness within and conserve energy but need to anchor your mind.
Visualisation and meditation may also help to balance and replenish energy levels and teaches the body to relax and the mind to focus on things other than the present pain.

Simple but effective massage strokes can provide partners with an active, hands on role during labour. Massage to the lumbar spine can provide a welcome counter pressure to contractions, techniques around the base of the skull can help to relieve sacral pain, and gentle compressions and stokes can relieve tension throughout the entire body, especially during the earlier stages of labour.

..................................................................

Swedish Massage

45/60/75 minute treatment (£35, £45, £55)

Swedish massage is a full body treatment that is a vigorous form of massage which relaxes the mind and the body.

Swedish massage is less targeted than deep tissue/medical massage but is a great way to warm up and prepare the body for sporting activities or following exercise to redistribute lactic acids and the byproducts of exercise to maximize comfort.

It uses six main massage techniques to increase circulation which encourages the elimination of waste products and relieves stiff joints, tight muscles, fascia and ligaments.

..................................................................

Thai Table Massage

Thai Table massage is a special adaptation of traditional Thai massage techniques for the clinic setting.

It is a full body treatment comprising acupressure techniques, deep stretching, utilising rhythmic flowing movements with myofascial release techniques.

Thai massage is based upon the concept that if you release energy blockages through the ‘sen’ lines (similar to ‘chi’ energy lines within Acupuncture or ‘nadis’ with Ayurvedia) then you can optimise health and wellbeing.

The Thai massage treatment lasts for 60 or 90 minutes and the client remains clothed throughout. Thai massage is a relaxing treatment that reduces tension, especially for those with very well developed musculature.

Baby massage aids in the development of healthy infant-parent attachments which are important as the foundation from which our babies learn to interact with others.

We examine both pharmalogical and complementary health care practices to help to treat a wide variety of childhood ailments. Pregnancy Yoga

Yoga is one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy and regular practice can help to support and optimise a woman’s wellbeing.

In our pregnancy yoga classes we incorporate postures, sequences synchronised with relaxed breathing, breathing techniques, concentration techniques and guided relaxations.

Posture work can help to improve overall fitness, strengthen musculature, ease tension and pregnancy ailments, and prepare our body and mind for childbirth.

Hormonal and physical changes during pregnancy can affect our emotions and energy levels, so in yoga we use breathing and relaxation techniques to relax, re-energise and rebalance.

Post-natal and Baby Yoga

This class nurtures both mums and babies and combines baby yoga and postnatal yoga.

In baby yoga we use multisensory play, loving touch and yoga based exercises to support our baby’s development.

Our babies experience relaxed, nurturing touch and closeness along with opening, stimulating stretches and exercises, enabling active relaxation which helps them to regulate their responses to tension and discomfort that accompany many common baby ailments and may help to heal birth trauma. As it is relaxing it encourages the baby to be more settled.

Baby yoga is social and can enhance communication and emotional attachment. We incorporate some singing during movement sequences to engage our babies.

Parent and Mobile Baby Yoga

(for little ones on the move)

As our babies begin to explore their environment, our yoga practice expands. We continue to use multisensory play, movement, songs and sensory props to engage our little ones but we also incorporate group activities, diverse sequences and more time for independent exploration.

Many babies really benefit from the calmness that yoga practice promotes; even really energetic little ones will leave feeling more relaxed in body and mind.

It is beneficial for little ones to observe their parents actively exercising and relaxing as these activities can help to shape their health behaviours in the future.

..................................................................

Parent and Toddler Yoga

These classes are designed to get little ones (and parents) moving and exercising in a fun, inspiring, creative and calm environment.

We aim to enjoy yoga through play using a variety of styles. We use imaginative stories, dance, music and games to engage busy little minds. We introduce a variety of props such as balls, bean bags, parachutes, puppets, colourful scarves, musical toys and Tibetan sound bowls to create an inviting environment.

As our toddlers become more independent we encourage them to copy us so that they learn a variety of yoga poses, yoga sequences and breathing techniques. Yoga helps to promote body and social awareness, good posture, improve balance, assist co-ordination, enhance relaxation and inspire imagination. It also helps to enhance general wellbeing.
