Whether you are married, living with someone else, single, gay, or straight - counselling can help you. Lots of people have an idea of what relationship counselling is, and often think that counselling can only benefit you when things get really bad; no matter what situation you are facing in your relationship, counselling can help you to work through difficulties and resolve your issues in a caring and supportive environment. I believe behavioural patterns learned in childhood will often resurface in adulthood and, with the use of Genograms, together we can explore and identify family patterns that have affected your adult relationships in order to help you affect change and move forward in your life.
I also provide emotional support for young people who are experiencing difficulties in their life, whether they are personal issu¬¬es or problems arising from within the family unit. Counselling gives young people a secure, confidential environment wherein they can express their emotions and begin to understand the problems that are negatively affecting their lives. Counselling can help young people with bottled-up feelings such as anger, fear, embarrassment, anxiety, guilt, or loss, and these feelings can become very intense. Having the opportunity to talk about them to someone who isn’t a close family member, friend, or partner, can often make these feelings easier to understand and cope with.
I am a member of The National Counselling Society and a practicing Relate-qualified Counsellor, primarily working with couples and single people who are experiencing difficulties with their relationships within the family system. I regularly update my skills and knowledge with Continuing Professional Development (CDP), which I do to ensure my clients receive quality professional guidance at all times.
