About Bill Frost
On a post-graduate basis Bill trained as a clinical hypnotherapist with the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy at Birkbeck College (University College London) and at Imperial College (South Kensington, London). (Accreditted by the BACP and UKCP). He is now a full-time therapist and International lecturer with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis.
His main Clinical Hypnotherapy qualifications were examined / validated by the British Medical Hypnotherapy Examinations Board (BMHEB) / Greenwich University. (Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy / Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy). These qualifications were then maximised by undertaking NLP Practitioner / NLP Master Practitioner / NLP Life Coaching training (specifically for therapists) in the USA (trained personally by pioneering therapists John Overdorf and Julie Silverthorn). Bill has also undertaken ongoing professional development training to ensure that his knowledge is updated with the latest research in the field. He also has training in more esoteric aspects of healing such as Reiki in order to understand the process of suggestion that lies behind many of these approaches.
Bill is a lecturer, course tutor and supervisor with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. As an expert in the field he regularly contributes to television programmes including various recent series covering anger managemnt, addiction treatment, eating disorders, OCDs and extreme phobias.
He has also undertaken research into computer assisted psychotherapy. The result has been the innovative development of a series of software solutions for use by all psychotherapists that enable therapists to facilitate very rapid change. Computer assisted techniques are designed to be used in parallel with all other psychotherapeutic approaches and are now used by therapists throughout the world.
Such approaches may include:- EMDR Software (a powerful psychotherapy tool)
- NLP Software (Swish and Map Across techniques)
- MindSync sound waves (low frequency audio)
At Changing States new technologies are optionally used on an "as required" basis during sessions, additionally some tools are provided for use by clients when back at home.
His personal achievements include being a published periodical writer and scaling several high-altitude peaks including Everest Base Camp 5,500M (Nepal), Annapurna Base Camp 5,000M (Nepal) and Kilimanjarno 6,000M (Tanzania). Bill used his skills to overcome a fear of heights / altitude sickness before ascending his first high altitude mountain.
Some time before meeting these challenges Bill was forced to overcome an even greater challenge: recovery from major back surgery (featured in GQ Active Magazine). He used hypnotherapy to control pain, promote healing and to prepare for the complex neuro-surgery.
He is also a PADI certified (Open Water) scuba diver with experience in Thailand, Egypt and Tanzania (Zanzibar). Before learning to scuba dive he also used his skills to overcome fears of enclosed spaces / deep water. The ultimate test of this changed state was to undertake several deep-water dives through a large ship wreck at 90M in the Red Sea! Bill also has an interest in Buddhism and has spent time at a number of Buddhist monasteries learning aspects of the Buddhist approach to meditation and well being.
Bill has also spent time as a U.N. NGO aid-worker working in Croatia and Albania during highly active phases of both conflict situations. As a result he has an extensive understanding of PTSD and trauma in general.
In the ever changing world of psychology it is important that therapists continue to seek out new techniques and training courses. This ensures that knowledge remains current and that clients benefit from the most innovative methods available. This means that combined therapeutic approaches can be employed for even more rapid results. It was on this basis that Bill trained in the USA to become a Certified Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology Master Practitioner and a Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology Certified Life Coach.
