Cscape Pilates offers small group classes at locations around Cornwall, in Falmouth, Penryn, Truro, Mawnan Smith and near Bodmin with Pilates Foundation teacher Sally Williams.
Pilates is a form of body conditioning that works to improve your posture, increase awareness of your core muscles, strengthen specific muscle groups helping to protect the body, whilst increasing mobility and flexibility. Pilates promotes a connection with the mind, which can increase an overall sense of well-being.
What is Pilates?
Cscape Pilates offers small group matwork classes at a variety of levels from Beginners to Advanced. With 13 classes a week on offer, there is something for everyone and to suit every level.
Cscape offers classes for those who are rehabilitating from an injury or health condition and welcomes referrals form GPs, Physios and other health practitioners.
Teacher, Sally Williams, teaches a dynamic and flowing style of Pilates which draws from her training with the Pilates Foundation with influences from other forms of movement including yoga and dance.
Core - developing awareness of centre and use of a more efficient and supportive core muscles
Strength - develops muscle tone and flexibility in the body
Concentration - a mind body connection enables clients to develop deeper body awareness
Alignment - working to re-align the body to foster healthy joints and mobility
Posture - improvement of posture
Energy - Increase in overall fitness and energy and sense of well being
Classes tend to be offered in courses of 6 or 7 week blocks, although it may be possible for clients to drop in if there is a space in a class. Pilates exercises progress from week to week and movement patterns are introduced and layered like building blocks, therefore courses are recommended to see and feel the progression.
With Classes offered at different levels, clients can discuss their individual requirements with the teacher to ascertain the appropriate level of class and work at their own rate.
Qualifications
Sally Williams
After 10 years of undertaking Pilates classes herself, Sally went on to train with the Pilates Foundation, known to offer the highest standard of Pilates teacher training in the UK. Sally originally trained in Contemporary Dance at the renowned Laban Centre and has gone on to have a full and successful career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She is passionate about Pilates having reaped the benefits of attending regular classes after suffering with disc injuries to her lower back. She has used Pilates as an effective way of managing her condition to maintain a successful career as a professional dancer and is now delighted to be sharing her skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for Pilates with clients.
