Testimonials

Graham, age 87
Graham has suffered 2 small strokes in the past however he is generally still fairly active and well. A routine blood test showed increased cholesterol levels and high blood pressure. Graham didn’t want to take yet more prescription medication especially as he had previously taken some which gave him unpleasant side affects. He stated he would like to try changing his diet instead. After a month of dietary change Graham had a check up with his GP and another blood test. His cholesterol had reduced to a safe level and his blood pressure was normal. He was thrilled to bits and so were we - It is never too late to achieve improvements.

Sarah, age 50
Sarah has had IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) for 25 years, ever since she suffered post natal depression. She had resorted to taking an over the counter treatment for diarrhoea constantly to try and avoid suffering an attack of diarrhoea and was nervous to go out in case she needed a toilet in a hurry. The treatment would cause constipation and both this and the diarrhoea would give Sarah stomach cramps. Sarah also suffered chronic indigestion and nausea. Her GP prescribed antidepressants and various other medications but nothing really made any difference. She visited a range of alternative and complementary practitioners costing her dearly and didn''t achieve any relief. After some simple dietary changes Sarah’s diarrhoea attacks reduced dramatically to the rare occasion. She also lost weight and felt much healthier. She has the occasional blip but always knew why she had an attack and was able to control her symptoms.

Jenny, age 21
Jenny was about to return to studying had a tendency to not bother to eat properly and live on unhealthy snacks which was affecting her health and ability to study. She found it hard to think about food when she was studying and asked for detailed meal plans she could follow so she could not have to think about what she should eat. We came up with a healthy eating plan that was simple and didn’t take up much time which was a priority. After a few weeks she felt really well following her new diet and when we had a brief review a few months later she mentioned she didn’t suffer from colds constantly as she had done previously and studying was going well.

Kirsty, age 15
Kirsty a schoolgirl, was worrying about her weight and had a tendency to miss breakfast and lunch and then snack on unhealthy food as soon as she got home as she was so hungry and couldn’t wait for dinner. She would then eat on and off all evening. After a consultation with Kirsty and her mum and a couple of one to one chats with Kirsty where it was explained how to achieve a healthy weight she realised eating regularly was helpful and important. We came up with a diet plan she was happy with after a few revisions and a few months later she was happy with her weight and felt really well.

William, age 60
William had been diagnosed with a health condition which had the capacity to develop and have serious health implications. He wished to be as healthy as possible to reduce his risk of becoming ill. I studied his diet and lifestyle bearing in mind his illness and gave appropriate advice for improvements. William felt relieved to know he was doing all he could to prevent his illness progressing and was much less worried about his future.

Rob, age late 30''s
Rob exercises regularly. He believed he ate a healthy diet however was always a little overweight and couldn''t understand why. I asked him to keep a food diary for several days. After analysis it was found although his diet was fairly healthy the amounts of some foods was much too high and others too low. Rob was able to adjust his diet accordingly and achieved a weight he was happy with.
