Welcome to Embrace HypnosisJames Darby, is a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in the mindfulness-based treatment of stress and anxiety disorders.
Consulting from private practice in Fulham and Chelsea, London, James uses a combination of hypnotherapy and mindfulness-based interventions as a gateway to change, teaching clients how to observe their own thoughts, feelings and habitual behaviours, thereby creating the conditions for emotional and physical wellbeing.
A member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, James is part of the team at Thames Medical Lectures, an organisation that teaches Clinical Hypnotherapy at medical schools across the UK.
Currently studying for a Masters in Mindfulness Based Approaches at the
Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice , Bangor University, he also has a Masters in Business Administration from Cass Business School, London and a BA Hons in Philosophy from York University.
What is Clinical Hypnosis? Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy
The use of hypnosis to enable individuals to accept postive suggestions far less critically than in an alert or normal state. A skilled hypnotherapist can therefore seed constructive ideas which can then change behaviour and attitudes at their source.
Clinical Hypnosis
The use of targeted treatment protocols designed to help and alleviate mental and physical conditions with specific presenting symptoms.
What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is a way of being with and attending to experience with awareness rather than judgement. It is about learning to bring a sense of approach and acceptance to the present moment, just as it is, however pleasant or unpleasant, easy or difficult.
Mindfulness is also a practice and lifeskill, a set of tools to develop insight, clarity and discernment into the vast range of feelings, sensations and thoughts that comprise the human condition.
Mindfulness helps you to become more aware of the unhelpful thought patterns that can trigger and perpetuate stress, anxiety and low moods. With that awareness comes choice and an improved ability to respond skillfully to life's hurdles.
