It is probably true that the only time that we think about our feet is when they are tired and aching or when we are about to buy a new pair of shoes. Yet we rely on our feet every day, they move us about, they are often squeezed into ill-fitting footwear and they support our entire body weight! It is no surprise that they sometimes have a cause to complain. Maybe it is because we take our feet for granted that we tend to neglect them.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment available today. This method of treatment, in which fine needles are introduced into the skin, had its origins in China several thousand years ago. It is not possible to state definitely who first used this form of treatment or how it was discovered. It has waxed and waned in popularity not only in China but also in the Western World.
Many people may consider that it has only recently been introduced to European countries, but this in fact, is far from true. It was certainly known in Europe in the 17th Century and was recommended by eminent doctors in America at the beginning of this Century.
Homeopathic Medicine
Homoeopathy is rapidly regaining popularity around the world as an alternative option to conventional medicine for the treatment of many conditions which conventional medicine only has limited effect in. Homeopathy is also useful at times as a complementary therapy when the effects of conventional treatment can be supported or mitigated as the case may be.
Our Homoeopath treats patients for a wide range of conditions. As with any therapy homeopathy has certain limitations in which conditions it can treat but it is probably true to say that it is one of the therapies with the broadest scope in terms of the range of illnesses it can treat as well as the severity of pathology being suffered. It is particularly useful in a whole range of conditions for which conventional medicine either has nothing to offer or offers only palliative approaches of 'symptom control' or 'disease management e.g. allergic complaints, eczema, asthma, arthritis, mental illness, digestive problems etc.
