Help, Support and Fulfillment
Welcome It has been my privilege during my career to help couples with their desire to start a family. There is no greater joy in life than to hold a much wanted child in your arms, especially if you thought it might never happen.
I have worked with couples trying to conceive for twenty years and have experienced the delays and difficulties they often encounter. The delays in help being offered can cause great anxiety and stress both emotionally and physically.
When help is eventually offered it can be a disjointed and frustrating experience. This often leads to couples abandoning the NHS system where they have to wait in line, for private clinics that are expensive and may even offer unnecessary treatments.
It is common for couples to complain that they have ‘wasted too much time already’. They feel that they are fobbed off by their GPs with a few blood tests. The results of these tests are often never explained to them properly, or worse still, the tests have been poorly timed and are therefore of little or no use. This is mainly caused by the pressures surrounding GPs in their surgeries. They are not able to offer adequate time to spend with couples at the outset; this can lead to misunderstandings and poor timing of any requested tests.
The major issue is that no one person is co-ordinating your care. The system does not allow for couples to be treated as individuals. It’s a one size fits all scenario.
With so many couples falling into the same trap it has made me realise that I am in a unique position to help. With face to face consultations I can make a plan that is tailored to your needs and circumstances, so avoiding all of the above mentioned problems before they start.
My service can offer appointments at a time that is convenient to you including evenings and weekends. So if you have had any of the following: trouble conceiving, miscarriage/recurrent miscarriage or a previous ectopic pregnancy or indeed any other issue concerning starting a family, you can contact me to make an appointment.

Why use my service ? I have spent all of my working career in Gynaecology and Womens Health and most of that time more specifically as a Senior Fertility Nurse Specialist at the Central Middlesex Hospital in London. Unusually for an NHS hospital, Central Middlesex had a specialist dedicated fertility clinic. Investigating and caring for couples with fertility issues is a very specialist skill that should only be undertaken by those who have had specialist training.
Some of you will have already been frustrated by the lack of knowledge and understanding shown to you at GP surgeries and possibly even in hospital Gynaecology Clinics. This is no failure on behalf of the individuals concerned but due to the lack of flexibility and training within the services provided by the NHS.
Fertility investigation and treatment is a complex and painstaking process that needs to be tailored to each couple's needs. It is easier to accomplish this with continuity, meaning that you should always be seen by the same person who knows your case and co-ordinates your care, this avoids time delays, repetition and is more cost affective.
I have completed a six month course in managing couples who need fertility investigation and assisted conception at the Royal College of Nurses in London. I have also completed courses in the counselling of couples with fertility issues from both the City University London and the Tavistock Institute in London,
Until recently I have been employed by the NHS as a Senior Nurse Specialist, but have been fortunate enough to have also experienced working closely with some private clinics for those women who started their investigation in the NHS, but fall outside the local criteria set down by Primary Health Care Trusts for NHS funded treatment.
