Foxglove Reflexology
I qualified with a level 3 diploma in Reflexology and have full membership of the Association of Reflexologists. I also have a level 3 diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and I hold a registered general certificate in nursing. I have worked with patients with chronic disease and the elderly and as a reflexologist I feel that I can benefit from the experience and knowledge I have gained in my nursing career. I am also a fluent Welsh speaker.

What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet, hands or ears with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. It is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body.

What are the benefits?

REFLEXOLOGY
    1) creates relaxation
    2) reduces pain
    3) ameliorates health concerns
    4) improves blood flow
    5) aids post-operative recovery
    6) benefits mental health
    7) complements cancer care
    8) eases pregnancy
    9) enhances medical care
    10) strengthens the immune system

Who can benefit?
Reflexology is a holistic, non-invasive therapy which can benefit the majority of people. Many people use reflexology to help them relax and reduce stress and to help them achieve balance. Stress is often an underlying factor in physical illness.

Does reflexology improve general well-being?
Reflexology can improve energy levels, boosts the immune system and creates a stronger body and calmer mind. It is about bringing balance, harmony and a sense of well-being to the body. Reflexology facilitates healing within the body.

How long does each session last?
Sessions last from 30 minutes to an hour. There is no need to get undressed as it is required that only shoes and socks are removed. The client sits in a reclining chair placing the feet conveniently for the reflexologist’s work and the reflexologist uses pressure, stretch and movement to work through the foot methodically.

How does reflexology work?
If a reflexologist finds sensitivity in one spot of the feet or hands, this indicates that there is an imbalance in the entire length of that zone.
Massaging or pressing each area can stimulate the flow of energy, blood, nutrients and nerve impulses to the corresponding body zone, and thereby relieve ailments in that zone.

Is reflexology used in any other setting?
Yes, reflexology is a clinically proven treatment and is used in some areas of the NHS.

How much does it cost?
Consultation & 1st treatment £25 (this should take approximately 1- 1½ hours)
Subsequent treatments £30 (approximately 1 hour)

I am a mobile reflexologist and am prepared to travel within a radius of 10 miles from Cardiff. I am also keen to develop reflexology in the workplace and am happy to organise group based sessions. If home visits are inconvenient I can offer reflexology at an alternative venue. Treatments are individually designed for you and I try to be as flexible as I can to meet your needs. Please contact me on the above tel. no and if you leave a message I will respond as quickly as possible.
