Our Therapies
Reflexology
Reflexology has many beneficial effects. It can help many minor physical and emotional symptoms. Reflex zones of the feet (sometimes hands) are stimulated to help encourage the natural healing process.
A full medical history is taken of any past and present ailments. The patient is made comfortable on the couch and whilst listening to relaxing music with the scent of specially selected essential oils, the feet are cleansed ready for treatment to begin.
Both feet are massaged using thumb pressures, working specific reflex zones to help the patients particular problem area. This is an incredibly relaxing treatment for body, mind and soul.
Holistic Facial
A holistic facial not only improves the quality of the skin but also helps the general health and well being of the patient. There are many acupuncture points on the face, which are stimulated during this treatment. Some patients may wish to receive facial enhancement acupuncture with this treatment or may just opt for acupressure massage.
Relaxing music is played whilst the client inhales specially selected essential oils. A skin analysis is carried out and suitable products selected for the individual. The skin is cleansed, toned and moisturised.
Advice is given on diet and phytopherapy (plant medicine), to help improve the skins condition, as well as suitable skin products to use at home.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage improves blood flow to the head and neck thus increasing oxygen and nutrients to the tissues which encourages healing. It also improves lymphatic drainage to the head and neck, helping to remove waste from the body. It can help relieve eyestrain, headaches, sinusitis, congestion and insomnia. It alleviates stress, anxiety and depression and improves concentration. It creates a balanced feeling of peace and calm.
A carrier oil is specially selected along with essential oils, to enhance the therapeutic effect.
Clinical Aromatherapy
Clinical aromatherapy can be used to treat many minor ailments. The essential oils are specifically chosen to improve the patients physical and emotional wellbeing. For example, Rose oil will improve the quality of the skin, as well as being used for depression. Grapefruit is refreshing and uplifting emotionally and will also help to improve the circulation.
A full medical history is taken. Suitable essential oils are chosen and blended in a carrier oil for massage. The patient is made comfortable on the couch and can enjoy the massage whilst listening to relaxing music.
Facial Enhancement Acupuncture
Facial enhancement acupuncture can be used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and help to tone the muscles of the face, neck and scalp. Acupuncture encourages blood circulation, providing the cells of the skin with oxygen and nutrients and the removal of waste from the lymphatic system. It encourages the production of collagen and elastin fibres which decrease as you get older.
A full medical history is taken. A skin analysis is carried out and areas of concern are identified. The skin is cleansed, toned and massaged to warm up the facial muscles, using specially selected products to suit the clients age and skin type. Acupuncture points are selected on the face and also the body; in particular to encourage the elimination of waste from the colon, kidneys and liver. After 20 mins the needles are removed and the skin is nourished with moisturiser using essential oils suitable for the individuals skin type. This is an indulgent experience combining a holistic facial with acupuncture.
I have taught anatomy of the skin to beauty therapy students for six years at James Watt College.
It is recommended that patients complete a course of at least 10-12 treatments for best results.
