Kundalini yoga originated in India thousands of years ago. It is now referred to as the householder’s yoga giving us a “toolkit for life” in these busy, modern times. It is particularly good for those who want to quieten a busy mind to manage stress and anxiety. Through the synchronization of breath with movement as well as asanas (postures), mudra (hand positions that guide energy flow to the brain) and mantra (positive affirmations) and meditation, Kundalini yoga balances the energy in the body and mind to create a healthier, stronger and more flexible physical body as well as giving more perspective and emotional balance. As we focus on the breath with the movement and asanas, we bring an awareness to the body and mind to release any blocks. The body and mind are intrinsically linked and as we work through the blocks in our physical body, we work through the seeming limitations in our mind. As we establish a regular practice we start to think, act and live differently. We create a happier, healthier and more prosperous life.
Kundalini yoga is accessible to all. Jayne Redpath is a trained KRI instructor and Yoga Therapist with Kundalini Medicine. She is also a Reiki Practitioner. Jayne runs regular classes in Farnborough, Fleet and Southwood. She also works on a 1-1 basis to establish a tailored practice and yoga therapy to address specific areas of practice.
