A “Yogini” is a female practitioner of Yoga, “One” represents both the individual self and the "Oneness", achieved while practicing Yoga. Helena Lavery, is the Yoga Siromani who hopes to take you on that journey here in Belfast.

Yoga for Beginners to Intermediate
An eclectic style of hatha yoga teaching, to suit your needs.
Benefits: Yoga increases flexibility, tones the body, helps with breathing, concentration, mind control, body awareness, body alignment, alleviates
insomnia, self heals, de-stress, detox and learn how to meditate.
Wear loose comfortable clothing, bring drinking water, blanket or layered
clothing. We usually work barefoot or in socks. Try not to eat at least 2 hours before class as some of the asanas require deep twisting or folding of the body.

Little Yogis @ School
Helena has been teaching Yoga for Children in Nursery and Primary Schools in and around Belfast since 2006, when she completed her training with Jane-Louise Kelly of Yogabuddies. Many “Little Yogis” have benefited from the calming effects of Yoga and teachers have commented on the difference it has made to their school environment. Classes are in 6-8 week blocks designed to bring a child through all the benefits of Yoga. Helena is fully qualified and vetted with Access NI and Child Protection. A Typical Little Yogis’ Class
The classes are either 30 to 45 minutes long, the layout is usually something like this:
Om Chantingt - 3 chants of OM to quieten the mind
Chanting with hand and body movements - for concentration & co-ordination
Eye Exercises - strengthening eye muscles
Warm ups - to prepare for more strengthening practice
Asana Practice - following a story-line we shape our body like animals and nature
Winding down - slowing down to prepare for being still
Pranayama - controlling the breath to become more calm and peaceful
Magic Carpet Ride - 5 minutes of relaxation - just like dreaming
One Om and 3 Shanti’s - for peace with ourselves & peace in the world
Namaste - a bow of respect to each other

Family Yoga - A Class For You and Your Little Yogis
A Yoga Class specially designed to enhance the bond between you and your child through yogic play. Through gentle exercise, flexibility and strength of the body will increase, improving attention span, body awareness, co-ordination and confidence. Your family will benefit from the calming effects of yoga, with breathing practice and meditation.
The class is centered around the child, poses are not too difficult giving the child a chance to show you what they can do. Parents are very much encouraged to join in and be a child again.
Most suitable from 2 and a half up to 6 years old - though there are always exceptions, babies & toddlers welcome.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS Helena has been practicing Yoga since her first class at Art College in Dublin in 1997. Encouraged by her teacher she completed teacher training with the YTTC (Yoga Therapy and Training Centre) in Belfast in 2002. She went to India in 2004 trained to be a "Yoga Siromani" (Teacher of Yoga) with Sivananada Yoga Ashram. Later she deepened her knowledge of meditation at "Vipassana" in Nepal 2005. Her journey into Children's Yoga began with Yogabuddies in Belfast 2006 & 2008 and extended into Pregnancy and Mother & Baby Yoga with Sitaram in London 2010.
