Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient natural therapy that uses subtle energy of the feet to balance & harmonise. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance. By applying pressure to the many reflex points in the feet, reflexology can be used to restore and maintain balance in the body.
Over the years I have seen significant health changes in many of my clients.
Amongst other things, reflexology has been shown to be beneficial for reducing:- stress
- anxiety and depression
- diminishing pain
- easing the effects of chemotherapy in cancer care
- supporting pregnancy
- improving sleep patterns and generally helping the body work better.
Massage
I am fully qualified in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Lymphatic Massage, Hydrotherm Massage & Indian Head Massage. If appropriate I also incorporate accupressure points, myofacial release & various other techniques into a treatment..
Maternity Services
I am particularly interested in maternity services & am qualified as a Maternity Reflexology (covering Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & South Yorkshire) and as a Pregnancy Massage Therapist
Maternity Reflexology uses specialised techniques to support mum-to-be from preconception to birth and post-natal aftercare. Helps to create a more natural balance allowing optimal conditions for conception, pregnancy, birth and recovery.
As well as traditional pregnancy massage, I also offer hydrotherm massage - quite probably the best massage available to pregnant ladies. Hydrotherm massage is performed on cushions of hot water and offers optimal support and comfort for mum-to-be.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy involves the therapeutic use of pure essential oils to treat a wide variety of health issues.
Starting with a detailed consultation, this is a wonderful, totally relaxing body massage tailored to your own health requirements using specialised massage techniques and essential oils to relax, heal and balance the whole body.
Indian Head Massage
This treatment has been practiced for over 1000 years and concentrates on the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, face and scalp.
Especially beneficial for the relief of stress and upper back or neck tension - given either with oils or over clothes.
Ear Candling
An incredibly relaxing and therapeutic treatment gaining great popularity.
This gentle, non invasive treatment can bring relief to many symptoms of the ear and head as well as inducing a wonderful sense of well being.
Also includes a relaxing massage to complement the treatment.
Therapeutic Body Massage
Relaxing or invigorating. I have trained in many forms of massage so am able to adapt to your needs.
Firm, even pressure is applied to encourage relaxation and to release muscle tension. Essential oils and specialised techniques such as lymphatic drainage, pressure points or deep tissue massage may also be used.
