Chinese Medicine is more likely to treat the causes of the illness than Western medicine. It is safer than Western medicine. Acupuncture, acupressue, cupping and herbal remedies help you to correct and re-balance the vital life energy (Qi) to relieve pain and restore health. They are very effective as a prevention and as a treatment for many health conditions.
What is TCM?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient system of healing. Illness is a sign of disharmony and a disruption in the flow of “Qi”, or the “vital energy” within the body. Qi consists of “Yin” and “Yang”. They are two opposites but complementary. These two forces need to be balanced, otherwise disease or illness occurs in the body. TCM aims to harmonize the flow of qi to restore health. Acupuncture, acupressure, herbalism, cupping, moxibustion, qigong, tuina and diet are different aspects of TCM.
Most of the treatment I give to patients involves acupuncture.
What is Acupuncture?
Traditional acupuncture is the procedure of inserting and manipulating fine needles into various acupuncture points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes. By stimulating the acupoints you can access the meridians or channels, so the body’s Qi can be adjusted and harmonised.
Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions. It is scientifically proved to be effective in relieving :-• Arthritis pain
• Migraine
• Sport injury
• Infertility
• Indigestion
• Depression Acupuncture is a very safe form of treatment, which can be used safely alongside western medicines.
Some conditions or illnesses require different approaches and I am also qualified and offer other Traditional Chinese Treatments e.g. acupressure, cupping, moxibustion … etc.
What is Acupressure?
Acupressure uses the fingers, palm, elbow, etc to press acupuncture points, which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. These points can release muscular tension, and improve the blood circulation, and generates an energy force to aid healing.
Acupressure is very effective both as a prevention and as a treatment for many health conditions which are similar to acupuncture conditions.
What is Cupping?
Cupping is another technique by placing a vacuum cup on the skin for a few minutes to create and stimulate an acupuncture point.
Cupping is a sort of deep tissue massage. It helps tissue relaxation, releases toxins from the tissue, activates the lymphatic system, and clears blockages in the blood vessels.
What is Moxibustion?
Moxibustion is a therapy using burning moxa, or mugwort herb to warm the acupoints which encourages the body's energy to flow smoothly. Moxibustion therapy in conjunction with acupuncture can be very effective for many diseases and conditions including :-• back pain
• arthritis
• low blood pressure
• female health problems such as menstrual cramps and infertility
• male infertility
