Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques involving massage of the head, neck, upper back, shoulders, upper arms, scalp and face. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated tension and strain in the upper body, stimulate circulation and restore joint movement. It is a energetic stress busting therapy which works to relax or stimulate the body and help it maintain harmony.
Working with a firm and gentle rhythem it can help to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as calm the spirit, aid relaxation and improves circulation in the head and neck which enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.
As a therapy it is particularly useful for headaches, sinusitis, temporo- mandibular joint tension, migraine, eye strain and muscle tension in the neck and shoulders. It is also used by practioners to help reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, improve concentration and relax and rejuvenate the receiver.
Techniques used in this massage help to stimulate, relax and revive the whole of the head increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. The treatment includes a gentle face massage with techniques that help circulation, skin tone, sinus and headaches.
