I teach hatha yoga, in a therapeutic and detailed style, tailored to the needs of the individual.
Welcome to Holistic Yoga with Julia Moore
Yoga is the ultimate holistic therapy, if practised with awareness and attention. In my workshops, classes and courses I aim to inspire you to connect with and nurture your body, mind and spirit.
Practicing yoga regularly has the effect of supporting us on many different levels. In addition to improving posture, alleviating pain, strengthening weak areas of the body and increasing our range of movement, yoga practice fosters feelings of wellbeing, peace and contentment. As a result, we become more comfortable in our bodies and more at home in the world, able to deal with life's stresses and strains from a calmer centre.
I prefer to teach one to one or in small groups of less than 8 students per class. In this way, proper attention is paid to correct alignment ensuring a safe, enjoyable and supportive practice suitable for beginners to more experienced students.
Yoga is a vast discipline encompassing many paths towards wholeness. As such, there is a way for everyone to practice yoga regardless of age, health concerns, mobility, flexibility, religious or spiritual belief.
I offer classes and one to one sessions in Crouch End and the nearby areas in North London. I also offer Holistic Lifestyle Coaching a system of clarifying and supporting the correct diet and lifestyle choices for your individual needs.
About Julia
I began my study of yoga as a teenager in 1988. Since then, the yoga postures, meditation and breath awareness have been a huge support to me, enabling me to move more confidently, calmly, freely and steadily through life's ups and downs.
In addition to regular 3 year BWY accredited teacher training I have also completed many hours of study in yoga therapy with the Yoga Biomedical Trust and Yoga Campus. These include modules in musculo-skeletal problems; respiratory, cardiovascular and digestive problems. I have also completed a teacher training with Julie Friedeberger who specialises in teaching yoga to people living with cancer. My own yoga teacher is Sophy Hoare, a long time student of Vanda Scaravelli.
I have worked as a Health Advisor for the Haelan Centre for over ten years and recently I've chosen to consolidate my knowledge of natural health and wellbeing by studying with the CHEK Institute to become a Holistic Lifestyle Coach.

There is an answer!
Holistic Lifestyle Coaching is a systematic method of supporting you in attaining better health and wellbeing. One of the key principles of this effective system is that we all have individual nutritional needs. When it comes to diet, one size does not fit all. Unfortunately, this is not in keeping with mainstream advice on diet, which is why so many people struggle with the above symptoms, despite following a standard "healthy balanced diet."
What does the programme involve?
You will be asked to fill out a number of questionnaires one of which will establish your metabolic type. This gives you a rough idea of the balance of fats, proteins and carbohydrate foods that is best for you. From here you will be given information and support to help you simply and easily choose foods and create meals that are perfectly balanced just for you.
The holistic lifestyle programme is not just about your diet. It helps you to address the six core principles of health which are:- positive thinking
- establishing a healthy breathing pattern
- eating the right foods for your individual needs
- hydrating the body
- establishing healthy sleep patterns
- exercise advice and yoga
By following these principles your energy levels will increase and niggling health problems can fall away as your body is given the right support and nourishment to heal itself.
How do I start?- Once you choose to start on the programme you will be sent some forms via email or the post.
- We will then meet for a two hour session, to guide you through your individualised holistic lifestyle programme. You will be given an information and resources file containing all you need to guide you through your lifestyle changes.
- During this first session we will discuss the results of your questionnaire and look at any issues which may get in the way of your moving towards a healthier lifestyle You will then be given clear guidelines on eating to support your metabolic type.
- You then continue the process with three follow up sessions of one hour each in which we fine tune your diet, iron out and problems and get to the real work of clearing the stumbling blocks that are a natural part of radical change. Generally these are booked about 2 weeks apart. Essentially this work involves look at effective stress reduction and transformation of negative self talk into a positive state of well being. .
- Once you've put into practice the basic foundational principles of the HLC programme, you may find that you respond more quickly to complementary health treatment should you need it, lessening the necessity to rely on conventional medication such as painkillers and antibiotics. Prevention is better than cure!
How much will it cost?
Fees are £200 for the full course. This includes all the work on assessing your questionnaires; six weeks of email support and an information and resources file for you to keep that will be added to as you move through this life changing process.
